Newton, hands down. He is responsible for so much of Classical Physics and some higher mathematics. Had he lived in Einsteins time, who knows what he could have accomplished. Problem is, both men are so brilliant, they would find me a very boring person.

Probably Newton... from what I've read, the man was *amazing*... 20 years ahead of his peers in astrophysics alone, and humble to boot. Also intellectually versatile and incredibly inquisitive. Not that Einstein wasn't also great, but knowing Newton would be more like getting in on the ground floor.

Einstein. From what I understand, Newton was not much of a people person and a bit full of himself.

Well, that's hard to say. Newton spent most of his time working on astrology, so we could talk about something other than his scientific achievements. On the other hand, Newton was thoroughly steeped in the theological controversies of his day and dealt with issues I no longer consider worth talking about. Einstein would be a better choice, perhaps. It would be interesting to talk with him about the various ideas he considered in trying to reconcile relativity with quantum theory. Also he liked to go sailing, liked music, and was like me a horse for a single harness...Yes, I'll go with old Albert instead of Isaac.

NEWTON, at his time, he was alone on his search for the truth. THe philosophers around him were stuck in the dark ages, still thinking that everything orbited the earth and things fall because the lord made it that way
Einstein had plenty of other people that would actually listen to his ideas and discuss them with, so he could usually find some sort of support, also he had the technology.
