About two weeks ago, I noticed an army ant wandering around the base of my toilet. Being a "junior entymologist" I just left him alone. But he has been no further than 16 inches away from the base of the toilet--FOR TWO WEEKS! It has gotten to the point where I want to take him outside into the field and let him join a freakin' colony or something already. He is always there! Could he be waiting for his comrades so he can let them know he has found water? Why doesn't he go away? Seriously, no stupid answers, please!

In the West (especially the Greeks and initially the Romans followed), the New year was celebrated in a combination of the phase of the Moon, with some standard Solar day. For example, the New Year in Athens was starting at the New Moon after the Summer Solstice.
When and how have we reached at the January 1st as the beggining of the year?

Isn't it possible that when God created heaven and the earth and all living things on it that His words then created the very scientific principles that mortal scientists are now groping to understand?

I am not looking for knee jerk reactions from true believers on either side. I want a thoughtful and respectful discussion. I also am not looking for opinions such as "There is no such thing as God, therefore Creation is false" or "Evolution is the work of the devil."
