having gods doesnt mean people believe in them ... PS: all countries are corrupt in their own way and because India has the largest population you will see more of everything happening here coz there are all the more people to do these things.

I'm don't think there are that many deities in India although the numbers are enormous; which only goes to show that being religious has little to do with moral or ethical values because of the ritualistic aspect of a religion.
In Sicilian society mafiosi bosses can order people killed yet will subscribed to the rituals of the Roman Catholic Church.
Corrupt muslim government leaders religiously attend Friday prayers and observe all other Islamic teachings too. It is not the fault of the religion but the followers who are hyprocritical - it's pervasive in many cultures, creed and countries.

Italy has had only one official god for centuries and is even more famous than India for being a corrupt country.
Who knows... Maybe more gods makes people in India less corrupt than italians.

what is connection between god and corruption?corruption has some connection with economy generally when economy is strong and people are rich they do less corruption and as India has not strong economy there is corruption like other countries who use to worship one god why India has not strong economy? Its because of the beliefs of Hinduism.
All humans are on a class scale.
If you are on the poor person part of the scale, you are suppose to live there for the rest of you life and you pray that when you are reincarnated that you move up in the scale of classes.

Maybe because there are so many Gods, ...people are not united as a people- the dependency on a different God for different occasion/ situation shows vulnerability in itself for corruption...
