I have to take blood thinners for a protein S deficiency so I am not allowed to have an epidural. This is my first baby and I am worried about the pain. What is your experience???

I have suffered with GAD for the last 8 years, i have tried various SSRi's which have not helped and for the last year i have been prescribed Diazepam and Propranolol, which has helped me tremendously, i have not had to up my dosage of Diazepam, so i really do not think that i have become addicted to it. My anxiety is so bad that before i took the Diazepam and Propranolol I was agraphobic, which was extermely crippling both emotionally and financially. I can not claim benefits because my husband is working and earning £16,000pa. I have now become pregnant (not planned) and of course have stopped taking medication. I have an appointment with my gp next week to discuss what we can do to help my anxiety as he is worried that my anxiety might get worse. If anyone has been in this situation i would appreciate some advice and maybe let me know how you coped, i would also appreciate some general advice.

Thanks

My fiance and I want to try for a baby right after the wedding (sept 22nd). I'm pretty interested in a waterbirth I want to do this natural and I know a lot girls say that and end up on drugs but it's something I've always wanted. So basically I'm just curious how others who have done this felt about their choice. Would you do it again?

I have been since I woke up this morning at 3 am...with period like cramping and back pain. Phoned the doc, told me I may be in early labor and to monitor everything.
But, am I stupid because I'm scared to have her today if she's really meant to come out? Because of it being friday the 13th...Anyone else scared for this reason?

I am 27 weeks preg with 2nd baby (already have 2 yr old). At the time i found out i was preg my marriage was in trouble and i had to make a tough decision about whether to have the baby. I decided to keep my baby and my relationship with hubby has improved dramatically.

But....we had massive row last night. It is his 30th birthday on Oct 25th and the baby is due Oct 10th. I said that i didn't mind him going out for a few hours but not an all night bender - it would then mean that he would be passed out all the next day as well. I even suggested that he go out for a big night out before the baby arrives to celebrate (i may even be able to go with him) but he was infuriated. When i had my 1st baby i really struggled in the first few months, had serious depression and i know that i will need him more than ever.

Am i being unreasonable? I know it's a special birthday but i'll have a few weeks old baby and a 2yr old! He won't even talk to me this morning :(

Did your hospital PUSH you to have an epidural? Because I want to TRY to have a drug-free and natural birth, but of course I am not ashamed to give in to medication if I really need it, or to have a c-section if there are complications.

But I went to a birthing class at my hospital and when the nurse was describing the birth process she added the epidural in like it was necessary. My partner and I started asking questions about going natural, but she just laughed it off and said EVERYONE had epidurals nowadays (although she admitted that pushing time was generally much shorter with natural birth than with an epidural).

Did your doctor or hospital try to push you towards an epidural, even though you said you wanted to try it naturally? And how did it work out for you?

Well my first appt has nothing to do w/ what I'm going to ask but just wanted to let everyone know that I found out my due date and its 2/12/08. So happy to finally have one. OK here comes the question...I went to the WIC office for an appt right afterwards and I am completely turned off at breast feeding it just gives me the chills even tho it is the most natural and healthy way to go. They told me basically that I should try to change my mind and they told my fiancee to try to change it for me. Well help me change it. I wish I did want to do it but I just cant get past the chills whenever I think about it. Does anyone else feel this way? And if you did breast feed I congratulate you b/c I REALLY wish I could but I cant. But then again I'm early i'm only 9 weeks maybe i'll change my mind.

I'm going to feel really stupid if I'm wrong, because this seems so impossible. Is it possible for a woman to be pregnant with twins and each one has a different father? I don't think so, but my grandmother insists it is possible. Who is right?
