Di - Yea Im pretty upset about the Doctor not telling us what we are having. I had to BEG him just for a guess and he said MAYBE Boy. But then he said a minute later MAYBE Girl. He is a RUDE Doctor I've had a couple problems with him and have got into 2 fights with him. None of the Nurse's nor do the other Doctors like him. I have a 1yr old son and I went to the SAME place and became Friends with the girl that did the Ultrasounds then and she told me right away what I was having last time she said "Its a Boy 98.9% sure" and yea it was. But yea he took her job and she got laid off. So yea we were pretty upset that he was going to be doing the Ultrasounds. He doesnt even know what he's doing it seems.

Ben - Yea I know that the Doctor isnt Required to tell me but most do. My last one told me. They are able to give a percentage or what they think it is. Which he did and he said it was probably a girl but then like 1minute later he said could be a boy. That he just didnt want to tell me. I was pretty upset. It would be alot easier I think if we knew. Right now we have NO girl things. Only boys since I've already had a boy.

It looks like a boy to me. I'm having a girl and I have an ultrasound picture that has the 3 distinct lines...I don't see that on yours. My dad is actually a radiologist so he reads ultrasounds for a living...but unfortunately that doesn't mean crap for me! Do they have one of those 3D ultrasound places in your area? They would probably tell you the sex if you went to one of those. It would cost you though. Some clinics will give you a free ultrasound. There's a place in my area called Elizabeth New Life Center that does that. I'm sure if they thought they knew the sex they could give you at least a good guess. I can't believe you got such a crappy ultrasound tech where you went. (Was a it a doctor performing the ultrasound or just a tech? Usually a tech does it.) Well, whatever the case, good luck! I wish you a happy, healthy baby--boy or girl!

Looks like a little jimmie to me. And, the doctor is not REQUIRED to tell you, as a matter of fact with all my kids, the doctors were very cautious about guessing, even though it was pretty obvious in all 3 (2 girls, 1 boy). I would keep an open mind just in case if I were you, but I'd be leaning towards his being a boy. If you have another ultrasound, hopefully it will be a little clearer.

I'm not entirely sure but it looks like a girl. A girl has three distinct lines. I will double check the others but the first two definitly look like a girl. Also good luck whether boy or girl.
Ouch, now that's surprising if you wanted to know. Also it sounds like your doctor isn't entirely sure. But sounds like your not happy with your doctor. Have you considered finding another doctor? But it does look like it could be a boy or girl. Of course the first ultrasound I had had those same lines and they are entirely sure it is a girl. Sorry that your experience wasn't a good one.
I found a quiz that shows you a pic of a girl and what I mean by the three distinct lines. I know I told you the answer but shows why I think it is a girl. Here is the address.

Id say a boy!!!
And the belly has nothing to do with it as samantha said - me & my friend are both having girls and our pics both have a huge pregnant looking belly on it but the midwife told me that they can tell if it is a boy or a girl from 20 weeks as they look for a winky which is much more noticable than a wanny lol so if they dont see the added parts then its a girl!!
They got right between my little angels legs so its pretty much in the bag!!!

How many weeks were you...the 20 week scan?
My doc told me that if you imagine sitting the little babe on a glass coffee table and peeping from underneath a girls bits would look like the side on view of a burger.
My opinion would be a girl but others have said boys. Phew.
Best of luck with everything anyway what ever colour one you get.
Maybe Google images on some "boy ultrasound pictures" and then some girl ones???
Soz couldn't be answer this one for you..........

The usual reason for not being told the sex of the baby is due to ethnicity. In the UK unless you specifically ask the gender and the sonographer is satisfied that knowing won't endanger the child then they do tell you. This is due to a large % of Indian and Pakistani babies being aborted in the UK if they are a first child and are a girl.
Sad but true. You are more likely to be told the sex of your child if it is glaringly obvious it is a boy. This is usually done at the 22 week scan as the 12 weeks is usually too grainy to see clearly.

I think if I were you I would request another ultrasound, because I would go crazy not knowing. Looks like a boy to me though, but I don't read ultra sounds for a living. Good luck and congratz!!!
