My fiance and I want to try for a baby right after the wedding (sept 22nd). I'm pretty interested in a waterbirth I want to do this natural and I know a lot girls say that and end up on drugs but it's something I've always wanted. So basically I'm just curious how others who have done this felt about their choice. Would you do it again?

waterbirth is a great option. I have not birthed in water, though I have labored in water - hydrotherapy is wonderful. And I have had clients with waterbirths. It is gentle, soothing, and very condusive to relaxation - which is key for a natural labor and birth.

The difference between you and other girls is that success is dependant on preparation and practice. Just as an athlete trains through trial runs, educates himself, and learns all that he can about his sport before he competes, a pregnant woman should go into labor and birth understanding that labor means just that - hard work - an athletically and physically demanding event that requires preparation and practice.

Below, I have linked a few sites for benefits and videos in case you are interested. Good luck and good for you for preparing and educating yourself.

I'm not married yet, and I have our birth plan written up and I'm am sure I am having a home birth with a birthing pool.

Check out homebirth.org.uk for some really moving stories.

They also supply links for birthing pools, although this is in the UK and I don't know where you live. I'm from Canada, and found it very helpful and I read the stories every day.

Send me a msg if you want to chat about home births and having no meds! Yeah for you!
