My name isn't a English name, my first name is Miao. Because it sounds Meow, some kids make fun of my name by pronouncing it as a cat meow... i know those kids are silly, but it still bothers me sometimes... Should I change my name or I just ignore them? What do you think?

I'm looking for strong, slightly offbeat, interesting names that have a long history of usage. I don’t think that a child’s name should be an obstacle that they have to overcome, but I also don’t want to pick a name that sounds played out at this point in history. I’m having a great deal of trouble finding such a name.

Examples of the kinds of names I love are:
Delilah
Elisheva
Florian

I am not interested in:

recently invented names, like Bryson
names that end in the "ee" sound, like Kayliegh or Bayley

If I hear ONE more child has been named Ella, Ava, Mia, Mya, Olivia, Noah, Elijah, etc... Geez!!!!!

Why do these people not realise when the teacher calls their childs name every kid in the class will turn around? Why can't people see that they are sucked into fads. When my brother thought of a name for his little girl he didn't tell a soul. And as a result her name is quite rare, but now stupid or with stupid spelling.

I am 4 and a half months pregnant with twins and although it is a high risk pregnancy all is going well so far. We have found out that we are having 2 boys and 1 girl.So now we are in need of names. We do not want cutesy matching names or rhyming. They all need to be individual and the girls middle name will be either Sienna or Grace. Any suggestions?

For a boy, I like the name Jackson. I was thinking Jackson Clay, but I'm not too sure I'm satisfied with the middle name. What else would sound good with Jackson as a first name???

My sister is pregnant with quads, these are her first children. She used fertility drugs and understood the risks of multiples. She has chosen not to have reduction. She just found out she is having 2 girls and 2 boys.

Matthew and I got married a year ago, I had four children with my ex husband adn their names are Sean 7, Isabella 5, Baylee 5, and Adam 3. Matthew also had children from his last marriage Connor 9, Derek 6, and Maylin 4. A few months later I found out I was pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl. Ok so Im going to be an uncle from my wife's side for the first time right now. We are all South African and we live in SA. The mother is my wife's sister and the dad is Afrikaans so decided an Afrikaans name for the baby boy. They shortened the list down to Morne(Mor-nay) Ettienne(Et-tee-enn). The last name is De Villiers.

My best friends went into premature labor with my new niece and she had to have a c section to deliver the baby. Her daughter is 1 lbs and 3 ounces and is very tiny. She wants me to help her decide between 2 names. the baby's middle name is going to be Destiny no doubt about it. The baby has a 50/50 % chance of living. We need help deciding between the first names. And her nurses keep bugging her for a name
Keyana Destiny and we would nick name her Yana or Keya
or Jalena Destiny and would nick name her Lena which i think is very pretty.

Her older sister is 8 months old and her nameis Aliyah Jayde

What would you do?
I am due on March, so we will not know the sex of our baby for another 8 weeks. We are picking out names, and we have a major disagreement. If it's a boy, he wants it to be the 5th.
The middle and last name I agreed to, but not a 5th, as his first name is Lewis. What do you think? I don't even call my fiance Lewis, I have always called him Joey, just like the rest of his family. His father is deceased, as he is the only male left in the family. Hopefully it will be a girl, (the third gir!) but if it's not....... is this unfair of me? I really do not like the name, nor do I like the idea of the 5th, 6th, and so on.
