My name isn't a English name, my first name is Miao. Because it sounds Meow, some kids make fun of my name by pronouncing it as a cat meow... i know those kids are silly, but it still bothers me sometimes... Should I change my name or I just ignore them? What do you think?

People will always do that with certain names, so just ignore it! I think your name is sweet and really nice! I have a friend named Tiho and everyone teases him by calling him Tee-Hee! So there you go, ignore them! As you get older, that'll stop! It's just silliness and immaturity. Small things amuse small minds, I say! Take care!

I like your name, but changing your name is definitely a personal decision. I would prefer that you change your name because you really want to do it, not because you feel forced into it. I know being a kid is hard and that kids are really silly sometimes and get on your nerves, so if it does bother you that much or if it does in the future....I would consider discussing it with your parents.

I don't think you should change your name. Kids can be cruel. I am sorry that they are treating you that way! But, an unusual name is really cool and when you get older that sort of stuff will stop. In the meantime, maybe you should come up with a nickname ... or initials to go by?

Do not change your name. Just tell the other kids when they crack on you that they are jealous cuz your name is exotic. I like the name. And think of this since your name is different people will remember you. It makes you stand out in a room full of commonly named people. Good Luck!

even if you change you name, if you don't move people are still going to call you by your old name or pick on you about it , so what is the point of spinning any money or wasting you time.
also remember that is the name your parents chose for you so it probly has some special meaning to them.
if you like leave it alone, if not talk to your parents about it and see what they say.
i like your name and think it is very different and cool. there aren't very many people with odd names. i bet everyone gets picked on about there name or something else some time. next time some one picks on you pick back let them know you are ok with your name. if that don't work knock the he** out of them.

Do you like your name? Forget about the other kids when you grow up the names will stop but if your not happy then change it don't listen other people you are going to live with the name not them.

If you yourself hate your name, it's quick and cheap to change it if you want to.
Just remember though, that people will always find SOMETHING to pick on you about, that's the way the world works, unfortunately. In fact, they'll probably pick on you for changing it. Plus, if you change it and pick a new one they'll pick on you for choosing the one you did. At least now you can blame your parents ;)

Ignore them people are stupid!!!! Only do things for yourself never do things for other people. And definately don't do it to make people like you. Changing your name won't help. Those people will still be jerks in the end.

I dont think you should change your name. Its you.
just try to ignore them even though I know its easier said than done. they are just picking and not realizing its really hurting you. everyone gets picked on over something!
