Ok so Im going to be an uncle from my wife's side for the first time right now. We are all South African and we live in SA. The mother is my wife's sister and the dad is Afrikaans so decided an Afrikaans name for the baby boy. They shortened the list down to Morne(Mor-nay) Ettienne(Et-tee-enn). The last name is De Villiers.

Morne Ettienne De Villiers

So do you like the name?
And what do you think of it?
Thanks in advance to everyone who answers this question.

I think it's an excellent name for a baby boy living in South Africa.
Congratulations to you and the family!

Ettienne Morney would sound better. Mornay sounds like a a supporting name to the first. Ettienne is actually really cute. I'd switch the names though. Good luck

Oh, that is so pretty!!! I love the name Ettienne so much that I kind of want to steal it for my kid someday. I just love French-sounding names. And since the last name sounds French too, it goes together.

It is different and not a choice I would make, but if they like it and it is a cultural name. I think that is great. Congrats to them !

I do not like either name. Sorry. If you have to put the pronunciation next to the name. You shouldn't use that name. Sorry.
