Baby Names - January 2007

She has two children from her previous marriage. Two great boys whose middle name starts with 'P'. While we both wanted, and actually expected a girl, the sonogram revealed a boy. While we are still just as excited, no boys names have been seriously discussed. For some odd reason, I think it would be cool to have his initials be 'RPM'. Now for the name.
Race Presley.
I mentioned it and she SAID she loved it. She actually wants to NOT tell anyone, to avoid any dissaproval, especially from family.
What do you think of the name, and second, what's with the 'let's not tell anyone'. (Although I believe I know the answer to that.)

Why do they insist on an even more bizarre pronunciation that you would never guess from the spelling? Then they throw a hissy fit because it's not pronounced "right", so they correct for everyone. In which case, the other group has no idea who the poor person with the odd name and even worse pronuniciation is, who likely chooses to go by the common pronunciation regardless of what the parents think, because they are so different that it may as well be two seperate people/names entirely.

I'm all for unique names but there is a line that has to be drawn.
