Jezabell, however it is spelled. is a prostitute in the bible. It does have a fairly pleasant sound, but this is very much out weighed by the hooker image it carries. As far as what to name your twins, I would go with Abigail and Lucy. These are on your original list and don't have any excessive bad connotations that I know of.

Those are 60s names? They've been around alot longer than that. Abigail and Jezebel are both Biblical names. Jezebel is considered bad by alot of people because the Biblical woman of the same name was evil in the eyes of God. Personally I don't have anything against the name. I wouldn't give that name to any future daughter of mine but I don't find it bad either. Many people will though.
Abigail is not my style but it doesn't have any pinup girl vibe to it. It's a very virtuous name on the same lines that Jezebel is considered very scandalous by many. They're polar opposites.
If you're wanting pinup names from that era, there was Bridget Bardot, Bettie Page, Ava Gardner, Rita Hayworth, just to name a few.
Also, the proper spelling is Marilyn. It will be misspelled by everyone throughout her life, including teachers.

Jezabell makes me think of an animal name, I'm not sure why but it does. I also stumbled across this:
Jezebel was a queen of ancient Israel who turned the throne away from the Lord, used violent tyranny to force idolatry on the populace, and ultimately met a gruesome end. She was so irredeemably bad that her name has become a common word for a shameless, wicked woman. It's kind of catchy, though.

I would name a dog or cat Jezabelle, but not a child. What a horrible thing to do to a kid.

Naming your daughter Jezabel is the equivelant of naming your son Adolf.
Good luck with that.

Jezebel, although cute, is the name given to a whore in the bible. In 100 years or so it moight not matter much that her name is Jezebel since people are pulling farther and farther from church, but for now I dont think it'd be a good idea.
