Baby Names - January 2007

[Selected]: All categories Pregnancy & Parenting Baby Names

I am writing a movie script (actually, more like three). I need ideas of names for the following people:

brilliant, misunderstood girl, age 13
crazy aunt, artsy-fartsy, age 35
uptight doctor, woman, age 45
take-no-crap businesswoman (Leola is current choice, but not great), age 40
clinically insane boss, male, age 55

I realize these don't seem to be connected in any way, shape, or form, but once my movie earns it's first oscar, you'll understand. :P

Everyone says that you don't want to name your child a popular name so everyone is going for name like Nolan and Bella. I like the names that have good meanings. What do you all think about for a girl Gabriella Ruth and for a boy Luke William (the middle names and in the family but I really like the first names)?

Don't people realize the headaches they are inflicting on their children by thinking up unique names or bizarre new spellings of exisiting names?

Someone asked about "khouri". If they give that person that name, they introduce themselves and anyone who hears it assumes they know how to spell it. They get it wrong and are corrected. They probably won't remember....a lifetime of headaches.

Look at the problems people with names like Sara(h), C(K)atherine, Jeff(Geoff) have...... trust me this annoys them. It would be even worse when you pick one nobody would guess or remember.

There are so many REAL names to chose from. I realize it's the parent's perogative, but they need to think ahead a little for their kids sake. Give them zany/creative middle names if you want that's OK.

Am I alone in this?

I love the name Hayden!!! but I know a guy who's last name is Hayden. I used to talk to him often, but time has passed since I have seen or talked to him. Some of my friends know him. Would it be weird to name my son (when I have one) Hayden? I would not be naming him after him

I'm undecided as to which name I like more. What do you guys think?

Natalia (origin = latin, meaning = Christmas day)
or
Adia (origin = african, meaning = being a gift)

I'm not sure I like the meaning of the first name if it doesn't apply to the child, but should it matter? They both sound very pretty.
