It is important for each girl to have a sense of their own identity and not just being a twin. I suggest naming after something similar but letting them still be unique I'd pick names like:
Ruby and Opal
Daisy, Rose, Lilly (pick 2)
Grace and Joy
April, May, June (pick 2)
Amber and Jade
Some people get cute and rhyme and a lot of similar letters and you don't know if people are talking about their kids or the cats. Names like that could be added as middle names.

Why would you want them to have names that sound similar? Doesn't it kind of rob them of their own idenity? Not sure if you know this but Ann Landers and her sister Abigial Van Buren, were also idenitcal twins who had names that were essentially the same just in different order, Abby was Pauline Esther and Ann was Esther Pauline. Don't you think that may be part of the reason they had their names changed? I would resent my parents if I had a twin and was given a similar name. I am writing about identical male twins named Mikhail and Vyacheslav, which by the way sound nothing alike, and this is the way they prefer it.

Make your kids individuals. They aren't going to be joined at the hip! They are two seperate people! Treat them as such!

I too have identical twin daughters. Their names are Caramia Zaeta and Caraway Laeta. Most people hate their names and hate the fact I named them so much alike. I still to this day love their names.
I also have identical twin neices whose names are McKenzi Ryan and McKayla Jade.

My nieces are identical twins. Their names are Shandra and Clarissa or Shandy and Lissie is what we call them. Melody and Harmony I think are cute but that might be labeling them. Twins run in my family so if I have twin girls I will name them Lucy and Keirsha. Hope that helps!
