When Bush got in office ,for the 1st time in history he let the Big Oil co.s "help" write the "energy bill" There 1st order of biz was to DE Regulate the energy co.s so that they could raise your heat & electric bill as much and as often as they wanted to with out having to get approval from congress, And then Bush cut funding for the Energy assistance program for the poor ,elderly and disabled to get help with one heat bill a year. I heard someone refer to Bush as "Compassionate" ? To the rich Maybe?

There was obviously a reason for Thomas Jefferson to write that there should be a Wall between Church and State, thus clearing the way for freedom of religion in our country.

During the past six years, and obviously before that, the Christian Right, led by Ralph Reed, worked to bring religion into the political arena. With the rise of George Bush in the White House, the result has been constant war and political chaos. We are now enmeshed in perpetual war that is eating up our money and our resources. We are a divided country, with moderate Christians and moderate Republicans deploring this quagmire, while more radical Christians cheer the President and his faith. In Iraq, Evangelical groups tell our soldiers they are "soldiers of the Lord" and encourage them to get out there and kill.

Yet a new group of young Evangelical ministers are reflecting on these aggressive techniques and are telling their Congregations to stay out of the politics. Do you think they are
right?

Loving the BNP's understanding of agriculture; NHS; corporal punishment; Christian Assemblies; funding for Universities; the contradiction in council housing (they state that it should only be available to "British" citizens, yet earlier in the booklet, all immigrants have been sent home already, so that seems a little empty as a policy); etc; etc.

Examples-In '53 the Shah of Iran was overthrown."Soft left" social democrat Mossedeq was elected. The US funded and assisted Islamic rightists to overthrow him and put the Shah back on the throne. In '79, those Islamic militants overthrew the Shah themselves, and put in power the current Islamic Republic. In Panama, CIA employee Manuel Noreiga helped kill left-leaning president Torrijos and took over Panama. A few years later he went nationalist and stopped sharing his drug profits with the CIA, leading the US to declare him an enemy and invade Panama. CIA and Israeli intelligence helped fund Hamas in order to provide a counter-weight to the left-nationalist Fatah in the Palestinian movement. Today Hamas is an enemy of the US and a power among Palestinians. Osama was supported by U.S. ntelligence as part of the instigation of the war in Afghanistan, which drew the Soviets into that country. In '01 Bin Laden attacked his former employers.
Why does the U.S. help create its own enemies?

Makes perfect sense to me...we are asked (at least at my polling place) here in Fl. for a drivers license to verify who we are before voting. My precinct is (I would guess) 95+% white, but I've never seen anyone complain about it...why are the dems and blacks in such a tizzy in Ga.? I don't get it, do they think so little of themselves that they think blacks won't be capable of getting a valid Id and taking it with them to the polls? I've had no problem with that since I was 15...seems like such a no brainer.
