...what have you been watching...? CNN or MSNBC ? The Christmas "hysteria" has been fueled by the ACLU and radical Dummycratic-socialist groups who are against calling Christmas what it is... The celebration of the birth of Christ.
"They" would rather have "Winter Holiday" and hide behind the Courts and not recognize and appreciate that Jesus is the reason for the season... If anyone has a problem with the Truth of that... don't celebrate it... show up for work on December 25th and get on with it...

I dont know if youve noticed, but WalMart ALREADY has their Christmas stuff out. How long before we get done July 4 and go IMMEDIATELY into Christmas shopping mode?
Do you think stores put up holiday decorations because they are good Christians who want to celebrate the birth of the Lord Christ?
Or do you think they do it, in a cynical attempt to get you to buy THEIR wares as opposed to their competition's? Do you think WalMart put out all their Christmas trees and such because they are just so HAPPY and EAGER to get into the "Christmas Spirit"? They are doing it to get you to start SHOPPING for Christmas earlier and earlier.
However, to keep you from thinking about jaded and commercial Christmas has been in the US since the 1960s, you are forced to endlessly debate about whether a store should say "Merry Christmas", "Happy Hassidism" "Kwazy Kwanzaa" or whatever.
How about taking some of that energy you use to defend Bush and go volunteer at St Vincent De Paul this Thanksgiving?
I do that, not having any family in Arizona. And it is a real eye opener. The people I serve donated turkey and pumpkin pie to are not bums, they're not lost drunks, almost all of them are families. Honest, hardworking American FAMILIES who lost jobs due to "downsizing" or "outsourcing" to India, Mexico or the US prison population.
Where in the Bible does it say it's ok to let children go hungry in a land where we have SO MUCH? Why is it Christian charity to give hundreds of billions to Iraq, while allowing actual American citizens to starve or freeze to death?
What about the fact that child labor in China and India is producing a lot of the stuff your kids will be playing with on Christmas morning (which incidently, is nowhere NEAR when Jesus was born, but they needed a big "end of the year" Holiday so stores could get one more try at consumers' money before the end of the year)?
True Christians see what the celebration of their Savior's Birthday has become and weep. The ones who get onboard and support child-slave labor are not Christians.
And the merchants who use Christmas to sell guns and rat poison? LOL. I would hope that God, being immaculate, can find something worth redeeming in even THESE lost souls, but myself, NOT being Godlike, I can find only loss and despair when I look into their eyes.

Just because you are an atheist, don't force your lack of belief on me or anyone else who celebrate Christ being born. If you want to celebrate a holiday such as Ramadan or Yom Kippor, feel free to do so. However the USA is primarily a christian country and we celebrate Christmas.
A Christmas tree is not a holiday tree. Christmas break is not a winter break. Santa is a common name for Saint Christoper, who is a historical figure. So why don't you anti-free speech liberals go pound salt.

It never stopped.
It is mentioned at least a couple of times a week on Fox News.
In the 'outraged and incredulous' section of the O'Reilly Factor and Hannity and Colmes.

The right wing is the only guilty party of this?
All I know is every year around this time I start to get all those stupid e-mails about God and Jesus being taken out of schools and you can't say church in public etc...
I like the right wing twist on this, that's the pot calling the kettle black.

It's not hysteria. The right didn't start it. The left started it years ago.
My server is down at the moment or I'd post Ben Stein's (a Jew) comment about why folks like you should just be quiet if someone wants to say Merry Christmas.

They may skip it this year. I didn't see much of a fuss about banning halloween this year. It's politically driven, and it's not an election year.
