What does this clause mean to you? "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of a religion or prohibiting the free practice thereof." - First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America

Would laws "respecting the establishment of a religion" create a religion or would they introduce an existing religion into the governmental framework as to be recognized by the government while other existing religions are not recognized?

The purpose of this question is to address the difference of opinion that the general public has with regard to the legal doctrine of the Separation of Churh and State in the U.S.

The only known cure at this time is if the person gives up all their silly ideas and try to get back to reality; or just vote republican for a few years and stop watching so much TV.

I would order racial profiling in Airports to begin immediately.
I would build a huge razor-wire fence and/or brick wall across the southern border with an armed guard tower every 1/2 mile manned 24/7 on rotating shifts
I would increase the number of temporary worker visas by 100X to allow anyone who wants to REGISTER and PAY TAXES to work here.
I would require them to leave if they are unemployed and make sure they realize that they will be JAILED, deported and not be allowed back EVER if they violate their terms of their visa.

Its really not that complicated. Anyone agree?

As a African American I don't support any party. And I have notice a shift in many young blacks like my self being indepent, or unaffiliated. Neither party cares about the african american community. But speaking realisticlly the dem. and rep. run everything and independents can rarely be elected. So why are we putting all are eggs in one basket. I know you lefties will cry economy, economy! Ok, I'll go along with that (somewhat). But let me remind you that the legaslative branch (House and Senate) make and ultimately pass laws.
Executive (President) signs, veto's or does nothing. If nothing I believe 30 days and it becomes law.
Remember, Republicans were in control of Congress 6/8 years of Billy.

Coundn't the government itself sponsor each qualified candidate itself by controlling the debates and the airing of them? This would allow more diversity in our elections and all the people could hear proposals from each candidate, not just the ones who can afford to be on T.V. The government could air and sponsor debates between the candidates and we could truly see which one will represent us the best. Now with how elections are set up, candidates would have to get some sort of sponsor to give them money in order to advertise themselves thereby becoming a slave to that sponsor. This is why, I feel, our leaders cannot represent the people nowadays. They are slaves to their sponsors and their own greed and have the parties ideals, and their own on the agenda and not the wishes of the people. The government should set up the debates between each candidate from each party and have sole control over broadcasting it. Does anyone think this could work?
