when, where and how did the State of Israel come into existence. To whom did the land belong to before that? How did the Jews manage to populate a land that was already populated by the Arabs before the creation of the State of Israel?

If you could live in another time and place where would you choose and why- myself, Athens during the time of the great philosphers 4th century BC when it was possible to challenge powerful men to defend their opinions. Like an onion peel away at their preceived truths ( missing in today's media of which sadly is control by the same politicans who are being questioned)

I may not agree with everything going on today but I could never speak out against America, my home, my whole life. How can people be so critical of such a great history. Even her own citizens have fallen into the "Evil America" stereotype by believing everything they hear and forgetting about the good our country has done for the rest of the world. Whenever disaster strikes anywhere, the U.S. is there helping no matter which country it is in. The media and the stories they preach are ruining this country. They take advantage of the freedom they have by broadcasting only the bad and none of the good. What happened to the glory of America? Today the U.S. completed a brand new school in central Baghdad that will house and educate 3,000 children but that good deed was not even broadcast on any news I saw. Good deeds just don't make money, I guess. Does anyone agree or disagree. Let me have it.

If Devos gets into the office all state workers will be asked to take a $5.00 an hour pay cut to keep their jobs. People that work in the prisons should not be asked to take a pay cut, when they are there risking their lives watching over criminals. Why doesn't Devos take a big pay cut and his office staff?

1. so we get a pretext for an invasion of iraq?
2. so larry silverstein(owner of world trade center 1,2,&7) can take out a record 7 billion dollar insurance policy 2 months prior to 9/11and pay out everyone involved?
3. to get oil for cheap, mark up the price blaming it on the war and obtain ridiculous record profits?
4. or to scare everybody into submission so that everyone will back a war, be scared, and compromise their freedom (patriot act) so the government can keep a closer eye on you and me

4. or finally cheney's baby...a document called 'rebuilding americas defenses' which states that "we need a catastrophic even like a new pearl harbor" to justify a war in the middle east. signed by: cheney, gw bush, jeb bush, rumsfeld, wolfowitz, condoleeza rice (eerily similar to 9/11 huh)

all of which are try by the way

"We've finally given liberals a war against fundamentalism, and they don't want to fight it. They would, except it would put them on the same side as the United States."

Ann continues her patriotic duty of shoving crow down the America Hater's throats.

The US conservatives seem to have one answer agree or get out.

They claim to believe and fight for freedom but it doesn't sound like they like the practical applications thereof.

I guess freedom of the press and freedom of speech meant "only for some" - isn't that the rehtoric of the communists and the terrorists they say are "evil".

I am better off in Canada - I have lived all over Canada and of course I have heard some heated arguments over politics and not one of them ended with "if you don't agree get out".

Are Cdn's more freedom loving than the US republican party or is it that the few loud war mongering bulls of hypocrasy attact more attention than they deserve?

How can you teach a child to hate, and expect to have peace?
How can a Mother or Father send their own child in as a suicide bomber? I would do anything I could to make sure my child stayed alive. And would teach my child to love not hate!

I've never been able to understand this part of the American political system. A president in his second term already knows he can't be re-elected, so what is his incentive to act according to the will of the electorate?

I mean, it's kind of pointless. He's can't be re-elected, and he obviously doesn't care what others think (a good quality, in my opinion, but can also be bad). So, why does it matter if people approve of what he does? He's still going to do what he does regardless of what a stupid poll says. It's really a waste of news space and time.

The United states has already paid a large price to liberate Iraq. Do they even care? When you see them on tv celebrating the war in Isreal and Lebennon. Backing a terrorist group like Hezballa.
