i was in Iraq and the people seem to love us being there... except for the people who feel they need to fight because change is on its way and they are not used to much change... i still think we need to worry about ourselves and stop being a "world police force" because though it was a good idea to rid the world or these groups of people that do harm to innocence, we need to take care of our countries own problems and let them kill each other off... because when we do try and help the Innocent break away from the fear, it just seems to backfire... we should put our money into our economy and try and fix up our home before someone elses.

A majority of Iraqi's appreciate it, however, the media shows us the ones that don't. The mainstream media is liberal and wants to downplay American efforts. Iraqi's are starting to have freedoms that they never thought possible. There are ladies soccer teams, school, and going out in public without a veil. This is all possible because of USA involvement. There are too many Americans dying and Iraqi military and police better start learning how to govern their own country. We can't stay there forever. Hopefully, the free people in America understand why they are free and realize that these US soldiers are making a safer world for us now and in the future by taking out terrorists abroad. For those who mention polls....once again the media is taking the poll and selects the few that they want to answer it....definitely not a good representation of the Iraqi population and polls are not reliable.

The real question is are they better off now that he is gone. Those people have no money, no education, and are unfamiliar with democracy. I do not think these people know what to do with freedoms and were happier when they had someone telling them what to do. The problem with Saddam was that he was a dictator who exploited and used the people for his own good. They should have replaced him with someone educated on civil rights and let him lead these people because that is what the Iraqi people need is a leader to guide them through life.

If we cannot even control our children, how in heaven do we think we can push our ideology down the throats of people who think different from us, believe different from us and besides, Saddam was keeping the lid on an explosive area for years; he was our ally for years. Rome did many of the same things we are doing and they fell from being the mightiest nation to a nation of smog and historical monuments. History has a way of repeating itself.
Nations that survive for thousands of years have learned that you stay in the background to do so. Nations that rule the Unicorn's roost--they always burn out after less than a generation of years.

I think they appreciate it and at first they were hopeful but then civil war broke out and now they haven't enough security. Being terrified all the time and lacking the basic necessities in life, such as water, food, electricity etc.. can make people aggressive.
As for hezbollah, I don't think arabs see them as terrorists but a group defending their people since Lebanon lacks an adequate army.

I would ask, but most of them are either dead or hiding. I'm sure they appreciate being killed or to be living in fear of some kid in a uniform with better weapons than they have. Liberate Iraq? Have we really or are you just buying into the new lingo of the media??

I'm from Iraq and I'm very happy and appreciative to everyone who helped ending Saddam' regime, I assure you that at least 90% of Iraqi people were happy to see an end for Saddam' era.

Well, saying that so many of them turned up to vote for their first elections in a very long time, knowing that it'd be very dangerous, I'd say actual people care a lot. Specially if you've heard people with family over there talk about it.

They partied in the streets for a week after he was gone and they partied again when we captured him. If you talk to the military the people are very happy we are they and say they have hope now where they didn't under Saddam.
You won't hear that news if you watch the news.

They dont appreciate it near as I can tell. And I'd lay money soon as we pull out, without a short time, they'll have another Dictator running things there.
