Why when the world constantly says the Palestinian government was democratically elected does it also allow for it to kidnap members from another country and use it to put another state to ransom, through blackmail? Why does the world tolerate a terrorist organization in charge of potentially a new nation such as the Palestinian one?

To my mind FDR perpetuated the Great Depression because he did little to fix the fundamental problems. He dealt with the symptoms rather than fix the problems. Think about a leaking house. Are we better off spending our limited resources buying buckets to catch the water or to put up with the water for awhile and fix the roof?

Karunanidhi is 80+ and requires support to walk. He is a chief minister. There are many such aged politicians in India who are ministers. VP singh has survived twice or thrice and still wants to be in politics. Why they do not retire at 70 and leave the younger generation to take over.

A baby gets raped and what's the jail sentence? 8 years.

The UK, with the current government is going downhill...

I am 14 from Ireland and just about 100% of the population is anti-bush. however, very few people actually know what israel is about(literally 0% of kids my age know!), despite the conflicts being shown on the media(most don't know why it is going on).
My schoolbooks show absolutely nothing about Israel or anything. I recently found out that Americans generally know what israel is 'about' but they are obviously pro-israel.
Is this the same in Britian- do most people even know what israel is 'about'?
(I am probably wrong about Irish adults not knowing but i'm sure about young people)
