I am 14 from Ireland and just about 100% of the population is anti-bush. however, very few people actually know what israel is about(literally 0% of kids my age know!), despite the conflicts being shown on the media(most don't know why it is going on).
My schoolbooks show absolutely nothing about Israel or anything. I recently found out that Americans generally know what israel is 'about' but they are obviously pro-israel.
Is this the same in Britian- do most people even know what israel is 'about'?
(I am probably wrong about Irish adults not knowing but i'm sure about young people)

American Jews know about Israel. The average American wouldnt be able to find Israel on a map of Israel. The motto for the public school system in the USA is "Just spell No".

I think the wall of indifference and ignorance breaking up... probably this is one positive fallout of a brazen war... many young people have begun asking uncomfortable questions in the West about why we behave in such an uncivilized fashion when it comes to other people. Sometimes excessive violence can also bring us humans close!!

basically the Israelis and Palestinians think that the land belongs to them. the Palestinians say they were there first and the Israelis say it was promised to them by god. thats the whole thing in a nutshell.
