Does anyone know exactly what is in the package that the embassy sends you? What information does my fiancee need for the interview? Just wondering so we can be one step ahead of the process.

Instead of creating so much ire, why don't the immigrants (I won't name names here) work harder toward being the kind of people that we'd want to come to the US?
This past weekend there were a group of bikers of another race blocking the street so that traffic had to go down to one lane to get around them. They just looked at us with defiance. This was in my neighborhood, so do you think I want this kind of people out? Yeah, buddy!! Maybe if they hadn't blocked the street in the first place, maybe if they'd at least have moved out of the way and waved, maybe if they hadn't been looking at us white folks with their KMA looks, the feelings would be different. But they didn't do any of those things and they don't make themselves welcome.

I have recently met and fallen in love with a guy who has been in this country for approx 6 years, as soon as he proposed to me he was honest enough to tell me his residency status (or should I say lack of status). When we met I assumed he had the right to stay here as he works here. It turns out he only has a temporary NI. He has his own mortgage, pays his council tax and is a good citizen (an overstaying person anyway). I would still like to marry him and would like to find out how to make his stay here legal so that we may get married. While the option is there to go back to his homeland, I am a qualified healthcare professional and can provide for us both if he had to give up his job, even though he earns good money too. Please don't judge him and be harsh, many readers are quite mean, but if I can be compassionate towards a fellow human, surely others can show some compassion, and maybe even some advice on my predicament....all I did was fall in love...

One of my relatives is about 20 years old- he served in the military in Serbia; now his family is poor and he wants to come to the US for some work. It is very difficult for somene from Serbia to get a Visa to come to the US- I dont know if he should apply for a student visa (which he'd like to- but he isnt a student)- or a work visa- I dont know what to apply for so that he can at least come here for 6 months and do some honest hard work and make some money for him and his family. Help!

My family is mostly all citizens except my mom, my dad became an us citizens a while back so all his children became us citizens except my mom, i was wondering if she can become one? she has a green card but doesn't speak English very well, she can barely understand but she does understand it somewhat. well my real question is that i heard from my mom which she heard from her friends that if you live in America for about 10-15 years married to a person that became a us citizen that somehow you can automatically become a us citizen? is there websites where i can read up on this procedure if it is true?

I saw on the news how the US is now arresting people who come into our country from Mexico. They use to just send them back to their country.

The news also said sometimes the immigrants can stay in jail for months. This is suppose to scare them bacause they have no money to send home to their families.

What about our families. Why should our tax dollars pay for immigrants to sit in US jail. We did not commit these crimes, so why must we pay? It is bad enough we have to pay for our own citizens that do crimes but now we have to pay for immigrants too.

Great, just great. Don't you think it was better just sending them back everytime they crossed?

In October 2005, I applied to immigrate to Canada under the field of Skilled worker, a month ago I got married to a Canadian man therefore I informed the embassy accordingly.

The embassy is asking if I want to withdraw my file under the skilled worker field & convert to the family field so my husband can sponsor me to Canada.

Which one do you think is better ? shall I keep my file under the skilled worker fieled ? or it's better to let my husband sponsor me there ? noting that I'm a self - dependable person

Please reply only if you are an expert ...

I heard that ICE picks up illegal immigrants and takes them right to the airport and bring them back to the home country in handcupps. I also heard that it's more complicated than that. They have to go to jail while the deportation papers are processed and the illegal person has to see an INS judge. So, which is it?

Okay, I don't have all of the information but here is what I do know. My friend is 18 hers old. Her family moved here when she was 8 years old. She attended a regular school here in the US. She graduated from high school here and now attends my college. She doesn't have a SS# so I can't even figure out how she is attending college but she is. Her mom and dad tells her that they lost her passport. They apparently have filed for green cards but haven't heard anything since they have been in the US. Her older brother went to get help with the matter but he got deported instead. Now she is stuck because she has no passport, no green card, no ss#. She can't work and neither can her family. They have to take cash jobs. How can I help her get the right stuff done so that she can be legal?

Hello,
How come you need a passport to travel between the UK and France, but not between France and Germany, or Germany and Austria, etc? UK's part of the EU right? So why the need for a border control?
