In October 2005, I applied to immigrate to Canada under the field of Skilled worker, a month ago I got married to a Canadian man therefore I informed the embassy accordingly.

The embassy is asking if I want to withdraw my file under the skilled worker field & convert to the family field so my husband can sponsor me to Canada.

Which one do you think is better ? shall I keep my file under the skilled worker fieled ? or it's better to let my husband sponsor me there ? noting that I'm a self - dependable person

I am married to a cnd man and immigrated there. do the family class app outside of canada. how far along is the other app though?

family class is now much faster than is used to be . but if you do in canada app family you cannot work or get medical coverage unitl you are perm or "landed"

if you applied in 2005 have you tried to get a job there under NAFTA that is faster and if you get a job it can speed up the skilled work thing. but you must be very careful to follow the process. what sites from the govt have you been on?

i won a legal fight in canada against a school for my daughter. i have spent many hours reading up on the govt site and canada case law on this topic.

go to www.canlii.org for cases and the immigration and refugee board on canada.

also, read up on the brdiges program in ontario. at the www.cic.gc.ca site.

if you close out the case now it could take 2 more yrs. have you asked for a case status or "foss note"

I would check first with the Embassy's posted processing times for Federal Skilled Workers. Some Embassy's take much, much longer than others, many up to 6 years.

The CPR Spousal only takes about 6 -10 months, depending on the processing post (check www.cic.gc.ca).

if you can't find the posted processing times ask yourself this - if the Embassy has NOT issued you a request for you to complete your medical examination yet, you probably have at least 6-8 months of processing, may as well go with the spousal.

properly, I do agree that they form of throw all the "weird and wonderful" sections in the cultures and communities type....yet extremely, no longer all the questions published right here could do with relatives or relationships. so as which could no longer extremely be a extra appropriate place for us. i think they placed us right here by way of fact we are (in a manner) a "group" and in that admire the topics of our questions will variety lots and might't have lots extra of a particular place to be placed. Did that make any experience or am I purely babbling right here : )
