I had the exam done in London as part of the K1 Visa process. Basically they'll ask you to fill in a survey about your medical history. They'll then check your immunization history and for a fee give you any shots or boosters you may not have had. Then the Doctor will check your breathing, check your reflex, take a sample of blood and check "downstairs" for obvious signs of any STDs (guys have to undergo the cough test, not sure what they do for girls). Finally, they'll take an x-ray of your chest. They'll send all this to the Embassy within a week provided there is nothing unusual in the blood test or chest x-ray. Typically the medical examiners don't contact you further unless something is revealed through your exam.

My first wife did, but, NAS Atlanta stepped in and told INS they would handle the exam. We had our stuff in 48 hrs, saving a few other tests that take longer. INS was pretty steamed, too... Poor suits.

My Niece's husband had to take one. They did blood work, checked for diseases and drugs, and regular examination(ears, eyes, nose, throat, etc.) and after charging him $300 for the exam- the immigration services denied his application.

Good question! This is exactly the reason why we should not give illegal aliens amnesty!
I am not sure what is needed, but I know that they want only the people who are healthy here in these United States.

jungleboy is correct. You don't get the results. They are sent directly to the embassy or consulate.
