Elections - October 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Elections

Or is it designed to insure a Hillary victory? Michigan and Florida moved up the date of their primary elections and the DNC has denied them delegates to the National Convention. All candidates with the exception of Hillary (pardon the indigestion) and Mike Revell {sp} have removed their names from the ballot in Michigan, and Hillary stated (in typical wishy- washy, fence sitter style) that she would leave her name on the ballot, but would not campaign in Michigan. What the hell is going on on, self destruction or something more devious? What do you think? Go ahead neo-cons heres your crumbs. I would appreciate objective, thoughtful answers.

Are you simply so overburdened with so much disposable income that you can't wait to see what the new taxes will be next year? Or is it that you love living in a city with so much corruption that it is used as the example for corruption in politics? Possibly the pride that comes with living in a city that is hoping to have the highest sales tax in the country? I know that you have that nice metallic bean there near the lake, but come on, how long are you going to keep putting up with it? Do I even have to mention Todd "I don't care if its right, I'm doing it anyways" Stroeger?
Enjoy your new taxes......and don't hold your breath on the Olympics either...

The WA State Govt. has worked hard to sell our minerals to China. I remember 2 years ago how they went all out to do this. Now we have a Federal Minister coming over here, Telling us that He was the one responsible for our fortune.
What a Damn Joke.

I've been through quite a few presidential elections, and I'm not surprised by overheated rhetoric about one candidate or another. But I've never heard the kind of foaming at the mouth that I've been hearing lately about Senator Clinton. People tell the most astonishing lies about her. Is it just that she's female? Because she was married to Bill? Something else?

Unless something drastic happens in the next year or so, Senator Clinton is going to be our next president. How can we help people who are so afraid of that prospect come to terms with it?

I'm asking a sincere question. You don't need to explain your position. I'd prefer just a yes or no answer.

A lot of the answers I read about Ron Paul, it seems that everyone has the same criticism of him : "OOh he is crazy, he is a nut, he wants to get rid of the IRS, bla bla bla" its all the same... so my question is to you who do not like Ron Paul: Have you actually done any research on the issues he believes in? Have you watched him on the debates, have you seen any of his speeches, have you looked through his website? Or are you simply mimicking what people in the media are saying about him?? Seeing one clip of him on a news program that misconstrues what he believes in, saying "oh he wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve, how will we pay for anything?" Have you researched where the Federal Reserve system came from? That is it run by private banks? Or are you listening to the news, hear something bad about him, not even critically think what it means behind what they are saying, and then come on yahoo answers and criticizes him??

Hillary has said she wants to give $5000 dollars to every new baby born and if you don't like that idea she will just give $1000 to everyone in America. Do you like these ideas or will it just produce the biggest baby boom ever?

1) The Republicans would have had the first black president in 1996 if Colin Powell had accepted the invitation. At the time the polls showed he would have beat Clinton easily. (Clinton was running for his second term.) How is that possible if the Republicans are as intollerant as the left claims?

2) The Republican party is generally pro-life, but a frontrunner, Rudy Gulianni, is pro-choice. So, the Republican party allows a pro-choice cadidate to be a frontrunner, but the Dems will NOT allow a pro-life candidate to be a frontrunner. Isn't that intollerance on the part of the Dems ?

After all was not Abraham Lincoln the first Republican president, the man who freed the slaves? And did not the Democrats who use to reign supreme in the south maintain there segragationist laws?

After serious consideration I believe this country needs Barack Obama as President and Ron Paul as Vice President. I think they can really put our country in the right direction and fix the problems we've been having over the years.
