When national ID cards come out are you going to get one? why or why not.

I don't think I will, it would be too easy to put a tiny GPS chip in there, and big brother doesn't need to know my every move. Though life will be a bit harder without it.

I believe that we have the opportunity here to communicate with and, ultimately, understand the different cultures and societies that make up this world. I love people. I love getting to know people. I believe that we, as people, cannot love that which we do not understand. I want to know about the people in those countries that are torn apart with conflict and oppression. I want these people to know that they are loved and that there are many who are praying for them in their time of such chaos. My question arises from being concerned that my interest in wanting to know/understand/love what-some-might-call our "enemies" might be construed as my not being faithful to my country. We are living in a land of fear right now and I do not want to contribute to this thought. I want to support peace and harmony but I must live within the laws of my country, must always be a patriot of the USA. Are there boundaries here that I should know? Can I reach out in peace to war-torn souls?

Do you know what those goals and strategies are?

Zawahari (Al-Qaeda #2) released a video on the 4th of July 2007 which in part stated their goals. He also made statements concerning Iraq.
In my article entitled "Know Your Enemy-101" I highlighted those goals and strategies. http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-DfkctJU7dK5B7LcNROoyVQ--?cq=1

Can you tell me what they are?

If you are unwilling to research what the enemy wants, can you say that they don't effect you?

I found my eyes opened by watching Bill Moyer's journal tonight on WNET (PBS). I had no idea the extent of the misdeamanors or the extent to which impeachment is seen by the founding fathers as the REMEDY to a constitutional crisis; that the issue is one of flouting the checks and balances of the Constitution. If you saw the program, what did you think? If not, it repeats this Sunday (July 15) WNET at 7PM EST. Write to say what you think. I am all energized by this!!!

Here is a great idea, why not stop all the insults back and fourth. I'm not a big fan of some of your ideas your not a fan of mine, sooo, we make ideas up together. Now liberals we don't have to hold hands and kiss but we could start by listing out the major issues of the day, say 1-5.

When listing try not to have personal attacks or political jabs in them (i.e. Bush Sucks thats a problem, or baby killers need to stop; reverse aboration)

Once we have a list we are going to start knocking off the problems together and then as a group campagine for change.

Wouldn't this solve a lot of problems?

Cigarettes and other tabacco products are truly deadly. Should the legislature be protecting its citizens from deadly things?

Lots of chemicals are totally banned. So why not tabacco products.

Yes, it seems a bit harsh, and indeed it would suddenly kill an entire industry. But it would still eliminate a group of products that are proven to kill people.

Just a reminder that many brave military personnel are working very hard to secure peace in the Middle East. There's a lot of instability in Iraq and Afghanistan, and regional leaders are risking their lives to share information with reporters. This question is in regards to what citizens and residents here, enjoying relative calm, can do as preventive measure to such disaster. What can al-Quaida accomplish if the country diligently watches the neighborhoods?

A lot of people feel that their belonging to a party is part of their identity. For instance "I am a Republican" can mean that being a Republican is part of who I am, not merely the party that you happen to align with.

How important is being a member of a party to you? How much is it part of who you are?

We mostly agree in this country(U.S.) that something major has to be done to stem the tide of illegal immigrants from flooding our country and bogging down our judicial, welfare, and legislative systems. I just wonder if any of our citizens can come up with a decent idea to work with since our lawmakers can't, and maybe we can submit the best ideas to our state representatives, although it is highly unlikely they will be competent enough to review them adequately...lol

I read in http://www.africanexecutive.com about the proposal to have a United States of Africa to replace the current African Union among others. I had one concern though, given that all other forms of organisations have failed to meet their mandate, what are the prospects of having a workable United States of Africa?
There was also a follow up post on http://businessinfocus.blogspot.com sugesting that the US of Africa was already here through international trade and what was left was just to officially recognize it?
CAn such really work?
Thanks.
