Please dont take the question the wrong way. I have to admit iam a simple minded person and have always been curious as to why important black figures state that the "White man is keeping us down". With my job iam in the hood all the time and to me it seems that there is a lack of parenting to be the big issue.

Who thinks like me that Fireworks are not only a waste of money but also a fire hazzard in dry areas like Utah

Govenor Huntsman from Utah, has spoken out against Fire works. Authorized the cities to their own disgretion to allow or to prevent fireworks. I too think , with the drout condition that we currently experience and shortage of our water supply fireworks are more of a hazzard than a beautification of holidays. Besides a waste of money. What do you all think?

Things are quite a mess these days especially due to the government. But, if you put your feelings about the government aside for a moment, ask yourself, are you still proud to be an American?

It seems that those who shout the loudest or have the most money are the one who get heard at the expense of the silent majority. I believe that it should be made easy for the silent majority to be heard through an electronic town hall of sorts. Now, this may exist already but I am unaware of it and I am guessing it is small and fragmented. I'm thinking if there was one place where everyone went, both the politicians and the voters, it would give the politicians a clearer picture of what their voters wanted.

As Google is to search engines, we need something equivilent for an electronic town hall. I am thinking one central starting point but it would be district specific where a politician could see the views only of his voters and just not any yahoo (as is this forum). Of course there we be a bunch things to work out, but it could be done.

Is there anything out there now in small form which we could support and help grow?

If you find out new information that causes you to change your mind, you are a flip flopper. If you question whether we should be at war, you are a traitor. How does all this help? How can a conversation go on with someone who throws these insults when you actually want to have a reasonable discussion?

I have been watching Fox news on and off again for the last couple of years. I have found them to be missleading and on ocation to spead false hoods. I don't mean the standard Lib Con ideals bashing that happens. I mean realy factual errors. I accept that journalists are human and they on ocation make mistakes on stories. but the reporters (not calling them journlists because they just report they don't investigate) on Fox consistantly make mistakes. I don't want this to be a Fox bashing type of question. im serious. how can i trust a new channel that consistantly get the news worng?
Im not going to say if im a lib or con, a dem or rep. because it shouldn't matter. i want to decide what I think not be told what to think.
OK let the bashing against me begin

I have just returned from a parish meeting where an open letter of support with 114 signatures had been posted by the councils principal engineer as "Supporting Information" even though it had missed the cut off date for comments and petitions etc.

Furthermore the letter was compiled by the parish chairmans wife and not everybody had been approached and seemed to be somewhat selective and covert. The principal engineer has allowed this to be included and I am worried that this misleading information will be used at a local forum and may influence members of the executive committee.

Incidently the principal engineer is being investgated for forwarding my personal and sensitive e-mails to the parish chairman.

Any views

Help please,

I purchased my house in 1983 and since that time have parked in the front garden which was gravelled over by the previous owner. However some 24 years later without any complaints or comments whatsoever the local authority are now saying that they are now going to stop me doing this and put in residents parking bays.
Can I claim Grandfather rights to prevent this from happening or any other laws of usage?

If we assume the following can phone polls be accurate?

1.a lot of poor people don't have phones
2.those that do have landlines and not cell phones
3. those that have landlines do not have caller ID as an added expense
4. if you do have caller ID a lot of people won't answer the phone when they see it is a telemarketer

Wouldn't that mean that a disproportionate number of poor people answer polls compared to moderate wealth and rich people.

Since poor people would like more help from the government, would they tend to be more democratic than republican?

If you find a disagreeable question or answer do you provide counter arguments?
If it's radically wrong, do you let their stupidity define their argument themselves?
