I've actually avoided the pet section for a while to avoid the idiocy! Fake questions and white dog poo have become about 60% of the questions lately... :-( Sad that people feel pet care is a joke!

Ok here's the deal: I am a mighty wizard and need to choose a familiar or "pet" as you mortals would refer to. I need something that:

-Can fly and spy the area around me
-Know some weaker spells such as invisibility
-Can act as a decoy to confuse my enemies
-Can find it's own food
-Does'nt need to **** all over the place
-OBEYOBEYOBEYTHECRAB....at least it should be relativly cooperative...

If you come up with other abilities for my familiar, fell free to post them as well....

There's a bunch of people who claim there is nothing after death for their dogs and cats and I always laugh a little inside whenever I hear it. Humans are no different from a dog, a cat, a bug or a fish.

We're simply smart animals, that's all. There is no special afterlife for us, there is no way to prove we dont belong to the animal family, and I'm just wondering who else agree's with me.

I used to have a pet hairless rat. I know, gross, don't know why I got it, he was mean, I was like 10. He used to get this huge welt looking thing on his back and my Mom could tell it was a zit. It seemed to bother him so she actually popped it for him. It came back several times. Did he only get that because he was hairless or can other animals (with hair) get zits?

Ok, so mommy gerbil, or daddy gerbil ate one baby, bit the back feet off another, and had started biting on the feet of a third. I separated them when I cleaned the cage and found the dead baby. These guys are not starving, though they might have been a bit hungry - they squirl their food out of the the dish and I can't tell if they hid it or ate it, but I feed them on average every time I see the dish empty.

Here is the question - mommy gerbil is definately expecting again - will she eat newborns after already eating the pups from a previous litter or does she know the difference. Should I remove dad before the new litter is born?

Also, what are the chances that the baby with no back feet will survive? The wounds have caughterized themselves and are not bleeding, but he/she can't jump, though he/she can move around pretty good...? Will the siblings kill it?

Right now I have the 4 remaining pups in a cage all their own, their eyes are all open and they are eating seeds

I have a bunny that is about a year old, but I don't know the sex of the bunny. My cousin looked at it when we first got it and said that it was a girl. But a couple of weeks ago, I took the bunny out of it's cage to clean it. My husband was holding it and looking at it and it looks like the bunny has balls!! So how can I tell if it's a girl or a boy?

Please no stupid or smart a$$ answers.

unexpected pet health care costs. Is there a limit to what you would spend?

Before anyone snaps at me, I've never been faced with a pet care expense that I haven't willing paid. Including $2000. for a cat with kidney failure.

Just today we adopted a second bunny, and the woman who gave it to us had a salt wheel in the bunny's cage. She was told rabbits need the extra salt. I've never heard that anywhere. She had an extra one in her box of treats, and the only animals on the box were a hamster and a gerbil. Are salt wheels maybe meant only for very small animals?
Thanks! :)
