A compound bow, definitely. My dad had that old kind, but they're really hard to pull back. Get one that you can adjust the weight. That way you can practice shooting it at 25-30 pounds, but when you build up the strength, you could raise the weight (weight isn't the word for it, I'm not sure what it's called. it just means, how hard it is to pull back the bow).

Check local laws first...hunting with a bow and arrow is illegal in some states. Why is a question on killing animals in the Pets section?
