My mother is helping a stray cat with a litter of five kittens, about 5 or 6 weeks old. The cat is partially tame. We are not certain if the cat has an infection. Additionally, the cat has been in the company of at least one unneutered male cat. We have antibiotics suitable for feline administration, but are uncertain whether they can be given to the cat if she is pregnant, again. We may take her to the vet, although that might be difficult due to the fact that she is not totally tame, and in a large dog cage with her kittens. The cage would be quite difficult to transport with the cat and her kittens. Does anyone know if Clavomox (Amoxicillin) is O.K. to give to a cat, if she may be pregnant, again. Yes, we can consut a vet, and I did read the info. re. Clavomox not being thoroughly tested in pregnancy. Wondering if anyone else has had experience with this? The cat will be spayed, but we need to know what to do in the mean time.
