I've noticed some are referring what happened to Steve Irwin as an 'attack', when it was really an unfortunate accident.

I think they dishonor his memory and everything he stood for by trying to sensationalize his death.

When I click on video playback for news events, a blank screen comes up with "done" in the lower left hand corner of the screen. How can I view videos for current news events on Yahoo!?

According to Major Ed Dames, former remote viewing expert for the U.S. government, the sun will "go crazy" and wipe out 2/3 of the human race with intense solar flares within the next 6 to 10 years. Who else was shocked to read that Steve Irwin had died? I am saddened by this because I enjoy watching him help others to understand wild animals. My children and I love to watch Croc. Hunter. He died by the barb of a sting ray...as the paper said he died doing what he loved. He will be missed

He died filming a documentry on the Great Barrier Reef. He was stabbed in the Heart by a Stingray. MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!! He was loved by many!!!

What do you get out of a typical local news broadcast?

I see the majority of a typical broadcast to promote fear. Fear of crime. Fear of economics. Fear of health problems. "Breaking news" is almost always negative. Then there's weather (where they get all excited when the weather is bad in some sort of way) and sports, with a small segment at the end of the broadcast that is positive in nature. If I believed most of what they said without filtering out the shock-value information and discern what the facts are, I would be so paranoid that I would be affraid to leave the house.

Side thought: fairly recently, I've been paying attention to their system of producing a news story. Have you noticed the consistancy (besides the way they talk and their emphatic jestures)? The field reporters spend about 30 seconds to introduce a news clip, play the clip, then a 15-second conclusion, and then back to the studio. "Thank you...(field reporter)." LOL

What do you think they promote?

why is it that mercy killing not good? why do people kill there loved ones if they love their loved ones? its better if we let our loved ones live a little more longer.

I'm having problems measuring articles which have irregular measurements of columns... I just don't know what to do with it. At first I thought of measuring the article by column inch by measuring the length of the columns (all columns) then multiplying it to the number of columns, but it turned out to be a large number. the other studies I've seen don't have those large numbers...

so please help me? :( thanks a lot.
