34,452 Iraq civilians said killed in '06 By HURST, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Twin car bombs tore through a leading Baghdad university as students left classes Tuesday in the deadliest attack in Iraq in nearly two months, and the United Nations reported 34,452 civilians were slain last year, nearly three times more than the United States government reported.

A total of 142 Iraqis were killed or found dead Tuesday, in what appeared to be a renewed campaign of Sunni insurgent violence against Shiite targets. The sharp uptick in deadly attacks coincided with the release of U.N. figures that showed an average of 94 civilians died each day in sectarian bloodshed in 2006. This proves the United States is going down like Vietnam. This is very shameful.

This story includes an 'evil' character named Michael (possibly Michael Devlin) and a character named Shawn Devlin (an possible alias of Shawn Hornbeck during the four-and-a-half years he was kidnapped). Does anyone know who wrote this story and why it has so many strange details in common with the Michael Devlin, Shawn Hornbeck, and Ben Ownby case? Copy and paste this link and read the story.....

Yet Yahoo Answers allow every derogatory remark about the President of the United States of America ? Interesting how that would not be allowed in other countries but hate is intensified in the USA towards anyone who is sitting in the President's House.... that sucks ! I remember the hate over Clinton and now Bush. What's wrong with you all ? Watch this QUESTION of mine will be deleted in 3 minutes. Stanley Crouch is an African-American newspaper columnist.

This is one young man that is going to go far even if he's not black like Stanley Crouch. The fact that he is black should not even come into play. Do NOT judge on the color of his skin BUT listen to what he is saying. He sounds like a young man who's seen something of this world while a young kid, he stated "It made me mindful of the huge gaps in opportunity that exist in many countries of the world. It also made me appreciate how deeply impoverished people can be -- how issues of corruption can thwart opportunity," and then he goes on to say "There is not a black America, and a white America, a Latino America, and Asian America -- we are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America,"

He won't have the arguement that they are building nuclear weapons anymore, so now let's wait and see what's on the agenda in the coming weeks, we'll all have to wait until after Feb. 6th when finally the truth comes out.
Maybe we could recommend that Bush start talking to Iran instead of laying false claims.

I just can't figure out why America has supported him for so long. Has he done anything for America? Lets put Iraq aside for the moment. I am from New Zealand, a country that has no nuclear power stations, nuclear weapons, have a female Prime minister who has been in term for 9 years, have no security issues(as we dont support Iraq) and are living happily at the 'bottom' of the world wonder why your country has gotten itself into a state as this.

U.S. Strikes Iraq for Plot to Kill Bush

By David Von Drehle and R. Jeffrey Smith
Washington Post Staff Writers
Sunday, June 27, 1993; Page A01

U.S. Navy ships launched 23 Tomahawk missiles against the headquarters of the Iraqi Intelligence Service yesterday in what President Clinton said was a "firm and commensurate" response to Iraq's plan to assassinate former president George Bush in mid-April.The attack was meant to strike at the building where Iraqi officials had plotted against Bush, organized other unspecified terrorist actions and directed repressive internal security measures, senior U.S. officials said. Clinton, speaking in a televised address to the nation at 7:40 last night, said he ordered the attack to send three messages to the Iraqi leadership: "We will combat terrorism. We will deter aggression. We will protect our people." Clinton said he ordered the attack after receiving "compelling evidence" from U.S. intelligence officials that Bush had been t

The media has been making a huge deal over the 'botched' hangings. The goal of hanging is to provide just enough rope to break the neck and sever the spinal cord.

Given the fact the goal is death, and more specifically a quick death, I'm at a loss what the big deal is that he was decapitated and the hanging was 'botched'. Messy, definitely. Horrific? Sure, but they were KILLING him, after all.

(By the way, I'm on the fence about supporting the death penalty or not, but I'd rather not discuss that in this post.) I'm curious about your opinions on this. Maybe you have some insight into why this 'botched' execution is deserving of the attention it is getting? Or, maybe you agree with me and question why it is such a big deal?

I do give out 'Best Answers", it will go to someone who put some thought into what side he or she is on and thoughtful discussion. Interesting society we live in today, no doubt...

This number is three times the death toll caused by Saddam. Saddam was hanged for crimes against humanity. What should we do with Bush? This is a blatant crime against humanity.
