This is a major event because if it weren't for Saddam, Desert Storm would have never happened under George Herbert Walker Bush, and we would have never went back there. He'd still be living out his life if he and his sons had agreed to get outta Bagdad by sundown like Bush told him. Also, to give satisfaction to millions of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis for all the pain he has caused.

Saddam knew it was dangerous staying in Iraq. Even though he sent his women to safety in other countries , he stayed back with his people. I mean , he could have made his escape and taken asylum in
a foreign country like a lot of dictators take refuge in the west.
In contrast , on 911 the Bush shown on TV was a very shaken man. He just got on his plane and was up in the air and comparative safety. If Bush was in Saddam's place , do you think he would have stayed with his people?? I don't think so. People who are afraid of truth are generally afraid of everything else.

Over 2,500 troops have died; $300 billion of taxpayer money has been wasted; and over five years has passed since the most horrific crime was committed. Has George Bush given up on Bin Laden?

Getting five years to gloat before being hanged has still got to be a victory in their circles. I say we track him down and kill him. And let's start by arresting his family members until he surfaces!

And, are we letting his father hold assets (stock) in U.S. corporations? I say hit his family in the pocketbook by seizing assets until they find a way to cough him up.

think about it..it would cost the same as the iraq war and then we would have world peace...

we can still support the 'god of israel' (lol) and at the same time...end war in the middle east against the jews and USA...and then they can start fighting each other and there is less focus on us.

ideas?

I was thinking maybe moving Israel into angola...but its a little late for that (WWII they had either current location or Angola)..

I think Nebraska would be an excellent site...all the tech stuff could be transplanted...houses, everything...it would probably cost 600 billion (cost of world peace)...besides, there is nothin in nebraska anyway...so it wouldn't cost the USA anything.

we could also transplant to arizona, but I think its a little hot there and barren.. I mean, its just like one giant shithole of sand...but then again, maybe they wouldn't mind.

I still think nebraska would be good, it has plenty of land (great planes)...farming, fishing, beautiful scenary...

If the so called Iron curtain hadn't come down then nuclear weapons would be harder to obtain. The russians say they back Bush on the war on terror but probably haven't forgotten who kicked them out of Afghanistan and where the arms came from. My point is has all this secrecy and backstabbing gone too far.

I have to write a report on why we should close ANWR to drilling. I was just wondering if there were any alaskans that could give me reasons that we should do this, and some evidence to support it. Or anyone for that matter, just let me know what your oppinions are, and facts are always appreciated!

Today, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis are celebrating the conviction of Saddam Hussein, they are ecstatic to see him go.

That is validation for the US and Iraqi forces.

So the Iraqis are killing eachother, and we are trying to stop them from doing so, why aren't people behind the war?

With all of the Killing which has happened in the past and is continuing today, do You think that possibly the Iraq Court and Government show some Mercy and change Sadam's and His co-horts sentence for Death to Life without release in order to show that the killing should stop. Just think about it for a while, with all of the suffering; violence; wars and killing, isn't it about time that someone standsup for what most of us want and that is peace and less hate???

I am normally against the death penalty, but I think I might support it for Saddam. Not because of how horrible and vast his murders were, but because if Iraq were to become unstable to the point that he could be freed, he would probably be more dangerous in the future than he was in the past. Does anybody else feel this way?

The war on terror is the biggest threat for us today and I think it will be for many years to come. The problem is that this radical extremist group of people are attacking every freedom loving country/ culture in the world.

Does anyone have any ideas on what can be done to stop this?

I am not stereotyping, not all muslums are bad. But there are ones who are ruining life for every one else. Why do the they raise their kids to hate Americans in the name of "Allah"? Will these kids ever realize what they are doing and that it's wrong?

Would the good countries ever be able to ban any muslums completely? That seems like the only solution to me. Isolate them in their own country and learn how to be independant of their oil.
