One day ago you were asking how to get rid of a cheating boyfriend and now your thinking of marrying him?.....Use the money for a therapist, or marriage counselor before you get married. Remember this is a life long commitment

Why don't you guys do a civil wedding (which is very cheap) and have a very small religious ceremony with just your family and best friends. This way you can save a lot of money for that down payment on the house. Down the road, when you are more secure financially you could renew your vows with a nice ceremony and invite all of your friends and family.

That depends on who you know. I knew someone who married in Hawaii and had everything there. Maybe you should consider who you know and who would go or show. I think most brake even or owe. Check statistics.Maybe there is a really nice big church out there who does reasonable modest size weddings. Ask those who you know that would go. Have a wedding shower and ask. If you don't know anyone from either side who would really help out than it's in the red anyway. Some churches have their rules about whether or not you're a member etc.Don't start a marriage going broke.

A house stands more chance of being with you in the long run than your boyfriend. You can still have a good size wedding while minimizing costs.

I would do as the others suggested though and put in under the correct category for better responses (like Marraiges and Divorces).

Split the differance: Have the wedding at a Knights of Columbus hall and use the extra money for an awesome honeymoon.

Girl...save your money...dont believe the hype about big weddings and all....the bottom line is when all is said and done.....you are the one paying the bills....use it towards a house ....that is what I did and Im still married after 6 years...I know a couple who got divorced after only 6 months because they were arguing about the bills for this huge wedding they had on yacht....it was a beautiful wedding but....sometimes it is just worth to have a small wedding and keep your man

Why is this question under current events? I could care less what you do. By the way, if you have to ask such a stupid question to complete strangers, you are obviously not mature nor smart enough to get married in the first place. Perhaps you should grow up first.

Elope, have a civil wedding and use the money for a house. You'll probably never see most of the people that "had" to be invitied againg anyway and you'll never recoup your costs.

Have it someone's backyard, invite all your friends, and tell them to bring a covered dish.

(I'm perfectly serious, this is how my oldest brother and his wife did it).

Get a relative with a large music collection to play dj and all you'll have to pay for is the booze and the clergyman.

NOt only that but you'll have a heckuva lot more fun.

A house lasts a lot longer than a wedding day.
