The McCanns have threatened to sue a Portugese reporter who implied that Mrs McCann may have murdered her.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/worldnews.html?in_article_id=477214&in_page_id=1811&ct=5

A source for the McCanns said.

"Both the McCanns are hard-working, law abiding professionals. It is very important to protect their reputation."

"The source said the McCanns have access to Portuguese libel lawyers and were prepared to go through the courts."

What I would like to know is

1) WHO is paying for these lawyers that they have access to. It better not be a penny from the Find Madeleine fund.

2) Why are the McCanns jumping up and down threatning to sue all and sundry who dare question them??

They doth protest too much methinks ......... (as another poster on here regularly says)

I am quite shocked by that train of thought - it would defy belief anyone would just dump a child's body in order to cover up an accidental overdose of sleeping medicine. It must be more than that going on here....

"Senior detectives have told prosecutors they believe Madeleine McCann was killed accidentally in her holiday flat.

The three Portuguese officers leading the investigation made the revelation at a meeting this week - and claimed to have evidence that supports their theory.

A source said: "They said they think Madeleine is dead and it happened in the flat. But they don't think she was killed on purpose. It's the first time they have said this."

I was just wondering why the police have decided to stay with the theory that Madeline was killed in the apartment? I thought it was all because of the blood but it turned out not to be hers. Does anyone know why the theory is still sticking?

Went to sleep last night and everything was fine, woke up this morning and someone has been reporting me to Yahoo. Who has been giving me violation notices for innocent questions? I think I can guess but I wanna see if the little snake has the balls to own up to it.

I know it was on here yesterday but this cocktail sausage thing - the boy who was arrested for lobbing one at a neighbour who was allegedly verbally abusing him? Things like this make me want to scream - in my day 'the adults' would have sorted disputes like this without involving the police.

It reminded me of those girls arrested for criminal damage (graffitti) for chalking on the pavement. I chalked on the pavement as a child - I was taught this at my playscheme as a constructive way of occupying my time.

Does anyone else think things like this are an absurd waste of police time and unecessarily criminalising kids?

MADELEINE COPS: 'She died by accident in the flat'
Martin Fricker In Praia Da Luz 23/08/2007

Senior detectives have told prosecutors they believe Madeleine McCann was killed accidentally in her holiday flat.
The Portuguese officers made the revelation during a meeting earlier this week - and claimed to have evidence that supports their theory.
A source said: "They said they think Madeleine is dead and it happened in the flat. But they don't think she was killed on purpose. It's the first time they have said this."
It is believed police are waiting for the results of DNA tests on blood specks found inside Gerry and Kate McCann's flat in Praia da Luz before they make their next move.

Would you rather suffer the abuses of Abu Ghraib in its hayday, or Auschwitz and the ovens? What about the killing fields of the Khmer Rouge? Better yet, whose shoes would you rather be in; one of the victims of Abu Ghraib, or would you rather be in the shoes of Eugene Armstrong?

So, this weekend my mother tells me that her husband she married last year, and who I never met or want to, has links to a terrorist organization. My mother is now sympathetic to this organization and has become anti-semite to boot. I have been informed that this could be a problem getting a security clearance, which isn't required but would make my job (at an international military organization - I'm a contractor) easier. I could also not get a contract renewal at the end of the year because of it. Any thoughts?

I wonder why, given human life is trapped underground, didn't the owners of the mine multi-task and drill more than one hole at the same time. It is obvious they did not know where they are/were. Forget about the cost of drilling and lets realize the miners are humans, not coal or diamonds.

A couple weeks ago I submitted a question regarding the collapse of World Trade Center Building #3, but it was removed. I gave some background information about the collapse.

1) Building fell in 6.5 seconds
2) Larry Silverstien (the leaseholder) said that they had decided to "pull it".
3) It was never hit by a plane.
4) Firefighters were told that it was going to come down.
5) John Kerry admits that it was his understanding that they had to "bring it down in a controlled manner".

In light of these facts (and they are facts - check for yourself if you don't believe me) what do you think brought down WTC 3?

If it looks like a duck...

Why does it seem that the American public and the rest of the western world think they can win the war on terrorism quickly? In my opinion the war on terrorism is a very long war, that has only just begun! I want to hear your opinions on this and whether you agree with me or not!

The first battle occurred in the Afghanistan invasion by the United States when the Taliban and Al Qaeda were attacked. Now, the Taliban has resurfaced and it is very unclear what will happen in that country.

The second battle is taking place in Iraq at this very moment. Now, I disagree with the war in Iraq, but, this is only the second battle out of many.

CNN has stated that the threat of terrorism, and the numbers of terrorists has grown due to the "battles" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thanks for your opinions on this subject, and I hope to hear some good answers, on your opinions on the war, and whether you agree with my assessment of the war. Thanks for answering!

A lot people claim that a terrorist attack has not occurred in the United States since 9/11. This not true as we were attacked with a biological weapon (Anthrax) shortly after the September 11 attacks. I know there are more and was wondering if anybody could list them.

Hilary has just called for the Iraqi parliment to expel Maliki as parliment, and in the same breath says that the US must withdraw it's military forces. Seems just a couple weeks ago that the State Department asked candidates to refrain from making political points while confronting and possibly offending our allies. Yet, here is Hilary doing that very thing. Is she trying to destabilize Iraq, just when the surge is gaining some success? Is she afraid that success in Iraq will force her to pull a McGovern in 2008? Sounds reprehensible to me.
