Who knows as it's also been reported somewhere else that she is alive and living in Spain. Anything is a possibility. I would like to think that she would be found alive but such a long time has passed since she disappeared. But there have been cases where children have been found months even years later, although I really don't think this is the case here.
I really think that the media in both Portugal and Uk are not to be trusted, there is conflicting stories every day and the only way we will here the real story behind all this is probably when the case has been solved

I don't believe the abduction theory but the accident theory doesn’t make sense either.
If she died by accident, it took the McCanns a really short time to decide what to do next, organise and carry out the disappearance of the body, make up a story , get all of their friends to agree with the plan, organise the campaign, etc. All that in the few hours right after the accident? It would have been easier for them to just tell the truth or, if the truth implied that they had been negligent or something, then again, it would have been easier to just lie about the way the girl died; they are doctors it shouldn't be too hard for them.

I have thought this all along and everything that has happened subsequently has been a huge cover-up by the McCanns to protect their careers. I believe Gerry disposed of the body (no mention is ever made of the sighting by a local of a man fitting Gerry's description putting a full bag in the bins of the nearby supermarket - why?) and then hatched the kidnap story to save their skins.

If they have evidence that Madeleine has died, then I wonder how they know it was an accident.
Could they be offering the proverbial carrot in an attempt to get someone to come forward on lesser charges?

Then, we should wait with the Police for the DNA results.
If this rumour (there isn't any proof yet, is there?) has any basis to it, could you let me know how little Madeleine's body was disposed of...?
And sadly, if it was, by her own heartbroken parents (an accident you yourself say...) how haven't the expert dogs, the police, the local public, the investigators found any trace of it yet.
The truth will prevail yet.
PS: And welcome back...!

I am sure she either died in the flat or very shortly after - lets hope she is not with some pervert and still alive - the likelihood that she has been taken by someone wanting a kid for their own is just pie in the sky.
It would be easy to dispose of a body there but easier if you are local as you can nip on a boat and dispose of it that way.
But it looks like the police may have some evidence relating to the cars they looked at or in the apartment which suggests she is dead.

I don't think they really know what happened. They are just clutching at straws! There have been so many different stories since the poor little girls disappearance. With all the media attention still they are just saying things to try to keep people quiet.

I heard that they have been giving statements and giving little bits of false information just to throw the "kidnapper" off, so now I don't know what to believe...It is very possible though.

I don't know what happened and I will wait for the police to release their 'evidence' (if there is any) before I judge
