So, this weekend my mother tells me that her husband she married last year, and who I never met or want to, has links to a terrorist organization. My mother is now sympathetic to this organization and has become anti-semite to boot. I have been informed that this could be a problem getting a security clearance, which isn't required but would make my job (at an international military organization - I'm a contractor) easier. I could also not get a contract renewal at the end of the year because of it. Any thoughts?

I am in no way in agreement with my mother on her issues and have moved half way across the world to get away from her and her family.

My husband had to get clearance for going to a dutie station, and he had to put all family members names on it and they do check in to everthing, One of the guys going with him was unable to go due to issues with a family member and had to make a long story short it could be truble, but all you can do is try and see what goes on.
good luck

This is definitely going to be detrimental to your life style from now on, you'll always be under suspicion and probably be dropped beyond the bottom of the list as a sympathizer. You can go to your supervisors or whomever does your listings and Tell them of you hesitancy's and beg forgiveness but, I think you should look for another line of work outside the Government chapter, your all done.
