i don't get it. i can see how civilians died -- it was unexpected. but how did 344 firefighters die? i heard something about a collapse but can someone please elaborate? thanks.

come on now, im referring to the death of the firefighters but i dont know if it was the collapse of the towers that killed them? or world trade center 7? ive visited the site, but i dont know exactly how the firefighters died.

Yeah man, there were inside the building rescuing people, they had no idea the WTC would collapse...they really didn't think it would go down the way it did....and some were staight underneath the building...

I didn't think it was possible, but you have completely blown my mind with your lack of knowledge about an event that occurred just a few years ago.

I hope that you are very young and thus were sheltered by your parents about the events of 9/11.

The firefighters and policemen were doing their jobs. They ran into the burning buildings to put out the fires and rescue the people inside. Sadly, both the towers (and a couple of other buildings in the area) were so badly damaged they collapsed very suddenly killing nearly everyone who was still inside.

You can't imagine how terrible it was to see it happen. Knowing all those people were still in the buildings and seeing the buildings collapse like a stack of pancakes into a giant pile of rubble.

All those people who had gone into the office for meetings or to do their work, who were riding up in the elevators to their offices, people who were saying good morning to each other. The maintenance people, the restaurant people up on the top floor, the office workers, artists and all the others who were in there. And the firemen and police...who ran into the danger zone voluntarily. They got a lot of people out; but they weren't able to get everyone, or themselves.

well obvious, there were two collapses of buildings in the area and it killed many firefighters and also when the towers finally collapsed there were firefighters trying to get people out of the building and that also collapsed while some were in there. also debree had a factor as well.

To put it in simple terms, Two big planes went boom into two buildings and the people went ahhhrggg and got bad boo-boos including firemen. The kind of boo boos that make you go to sleepies forever.
