On Iraq, Bush seemed to be practically the last man in America to realize his military strategy was failing*. Once inside the charmed Bush circle, people tend to stay there, and rise to the level of their incompetence*. The Administration has also overvalued loyalty ,tending to shut out other talented people and giving loyalists jobs for which they might not be suited*. Excessive loyalty only enables drift and dysfunction*. Bush's reflex to stand by his man points to a key weakness in his Management style*. Politically, it can put Bush in the position of embracing failure*. Bush's management problems begin with the way he evaluates and values people*. After 9/11, Bush embraced the CIA and eschewed any finger pointing after the massive intelligence failure that contributed to 9/11*. his Presidency has sustained damage from which it may never recover*. It's no wonder he doesn't read newspapers*.

From the beginning Fox News with held it's opinion about the guilt of the lacrosse players at Duke. The heavy hitters (O'Reilly, Hannity, Colms, et al) wanted to see the evidence. The other channels parroted what Niphong said and lynched the students in the media. Now we know the truth and that Fox News was on top of it. The other networks and their anchors failed to do their jobs.

...not unrecalcitrant 'feudal' overlords (the British Imperials) readying themselves to leave.

By what right, or sense of justice, do they demand the Palestinians forswear violence?

What modern state, apart from only one I can think of (Butan?), would even consider this suggestion without laughter ringing around the agora?

Not to mention Iran also. Now it seems like the whole Middle East is coming apart since we ousted Saddam from power. Wasn't it more peaceful when Saddam was in control? Isn't it obvious that Saddam had the fanatics and all other middle east on tippy toe, including Iran? And for those who complained that Saddam gased his own people is justified for us to kill over 600,000 more Iraqies from Bushe's war and not to mention over 5000 U.S. troops and Allied soldiers? Was this war a mistake or a HUGE mistake?

Can you believe Simpson would go to such lengths to create a company to hide the money he would have made from this book so that Ron Goldman's father would not get it? The Goldmans won a 38 million law suit (and only saw 2000.00 of that) and here this (fill in your best cuss word here) would have stood to make all that money from a book basically that states "this is how I would have done it had I done it"...it STILL boggles my mind that he would go to such lengths...how atrociously vile that is to even contemplate such a thing.

I like what the story says in the end...that the Goldmans if they win, have rights to the book...and may actually publish it under the title I DID IT or CONFESSIONS OF A MURDERER or whatever it was.

What are the chances that the violent divisions between Hamas and Fatah and the likelihood of a new, totally non-Hamas government will advance the Palestinian cause in the medium to long term ? Or conversely that will they worsen it - or make no difference ?

This is an open question. There are no insinuations or assumptions, pro- or anti-Hamas or Fatah, behind it.

If you were allowed to fix one thing about the press and its audience, what would it be/why?

what's the deal ? China is funding our war basically with all the money we've borrowed from them, yet at the same time I've read reports on China supposedly suppying anti-aircraft missles and other arms to Iran...Can anyone find a reason why they would do this? Maybe they want to gain control in the mid-east.

13 Kidnapped athletes found dead in Iraq ....

"I tell the killers, you should point your guns at the Americans and the foreigners (fighting in Iraq) instead of hurting athletes who were representing all of Iraq, not their tribe or sect," an Iraqi told a crowd of mourners at the local Hospital.

When an individual develops the skill to read and write, they have concomitantly developed an ability to utilise logic and reason, comprehend information, critically analyse and question the information that they receive. Whether it is what they are reading, what they are being told or what they visually see in front of their eyes.

Many Indians are not capable of learning from their mistakes or of learning from history, due to rampant illiteracy, and thus there is present an inability of Indians to employ their powers of intellect. Had there been a high level of literacy in India, many indians would be able to fathom that the communist founding fathers are responsible for the majority of the national security problems India is facing and that the Congress party, along with its plague of leftists, secularists and communists have single handedly destroyed the country for over 50 years. In this respect, rampant illiteracy works in favour of the dirty communists in maintaining power.

Stop wondering why the McCanns left their children and instead thought how much the world is going downhill? Where have all these peadophiles come from, when my parents were young they left all their doors open and everyone played in the street and there was no fear of anything like this.
What is happening to the human race?

So many people die every single day but yet there are still so many people left in the world. Why is this? Thousands of people die per day due to causes such as:
War
Famine (starvation)
Natural Disasters
Being Aborted
Car Recks
Illnesses
ect...
Why are there still so many people? I know the worlds fascenation with sex and porn is a sin but could it be for a logical reason? Like God needing us to reproduce like crazy durring this time because people die every second?

Former top Russian spy Oleg Gordievsky rubs shoulders with cricketer Ian Botham, author Salman Rushdie and actor Barry Humphries in the Queen's birthday honours list, published on Saturday.

Gordievsky, a KGB Colonel who became the highest ranking defector in the Cold War when he first started spying for and later escaped to Britain, becomes a Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George.

His citation for the award, usually reserved for top diplomats, is for services to the security of the United Kingdom.

The award comes as relations between Britain and Russia are under strain over the murder in London last year with radioactive Polonium 210 of another former Russian spy, Alexander Litvinenko, who accused Moscow of ordering his death.
