Not to mention Iran also. Now it seems like the whole Middle East is coming apart since we ousted Saddam from power. Wasn't it more peaceful when Saddam was in control? Isn't it obvious that Saddam had the fanatics and all other middle east on tippy toe, including Iran? And for those who complained that Saddam gased his own people is justified for us to kill over 600,000 more Iraqies from Bushe's war and not to mention over 5000 U.S. troops and Allied soldiers? Was this war a mistake or a HUGE mistake?

Wow, my 2 year old brother figured out what a C-average 50 year old Texan couldn't!

WHAT DO YOU THINK! WE SHOULD BE IN DARFUR RIGHT NOW!

No, the US didn't cause this conflict. Imagine if Saddam's regime were still in power! You know they used to pay large amounts of money to the family of every Palestinian suicide bomber. They supported terrorists in other ways too.
Some of us figured out, after 9/11, that this Islamist expansion is a real movement in the Middle East and elsewhere. By getting into the fight early on (rather than just absorbing the attacks like passive victims) we have helped to shape the future of the coming war. It will probably help keep most of our enemies' attacks away from US soil, at least.

I don't think the Americans were wrong.

Islamic fundamentalism is the single biggest threat to democracy that we are faced with. Surely the tragic events of 9/11 prove that? Iraq funded terrorism, just as Iran continues to do.

Even going back to the early 1940s, before Israel even existed, the Islamic extremists were a threat. The Arabs supported Hitler in World War Two, remember!

Democratic nations such as America and Britain might not be perfect, but at least there is freedom of speech and other basic human rights that simply don't exist in most Arab states. It is the duty of democratic countries to try and prevent countries like Iraq and Iran from developing or acquiring nuclear weapons. It is not only duty, it is self interest also.

My vote is mistake. While invading Iraq...well...I can't claim to even remotely have an idea what Bush was thinking. I don't think we upset things in the Middle East as much as you're saying we did (Palestine has been a mess ever since we created Israel back in the mid-40's,) but we certainly have tipped the delicate power balance, and the recoil is coming back to haunt us.

A disastrous mistake, Bush is a very dangerous religious fanatic he believe God is behind him, he does not feel accountable for the deaths of our brave troops or Iraqi people. According to him he is doing God will. I feel this region is not ready for Democracy. They need a leader that rules with an iron thumb. America is fast turning into a police state.

Not at all. Eventually we will have WWIII begin in the middle East. Nothing different now for thousands of years. They are cut throats. No different than alley dogs marking their territory.
