...not unrecalcitrant 'feudal' overlords (the British Imperials) readying themselves to leave.

By what right, or sense of justice, do they demand the Palestinians forswear violence?

What modern state, apart from only one I can think of (Butan?), would even consider this suggestion without laughter ringing around the agora?

You could at least get your basic facts straight.

Israel was not founded by terrorist action. The land was under a British mandate, and Britain decreed that it was to be divided equally, between the Palestinians and the jewish refugees from the second world war.

The Jews agreed, and the Arabs already living there didn't have a problem; in cities such as Jaffa, Jews and Arabs were living peacefully together. It was the surrounding Arab nations who rejected the idea, and demanded that all Muslims leave their homes so that they wouldn't be there when those same Arab countries launched a simultaneous attack on Israel - which they did indeed do.

As for the spurious story about British soldiers being hung from trees; perhaps you'd like to either quote your source for this, or provide a link? Given that the British were fully armed, while the jewish refugees were not allowed weapons of any kind, the British were the ones in control. It's also a matter of HISTORICAL FACT that the Arabs were allowed guns etc. while the Jews, who had accepted partition and wanted peace, were at the Arabs' mercy.

So get your facts right next time.

1. Israel was founded by the United Nations, not that crap you said.

2. Since when is it unjust to refuse to deal with a group until it stops trying to kill you?

3. The worst thing that could happen to the Palestinians right now would be for Israel to completely leave the West Bank and cede sovereignty. In case you haven't noticed, there has been some "tension" within the Palestinian Authority that might make it a little tough (read impossible) to govern.

I was tempted to ignore your question because it is so lacking in common sense.

The Israelis have the right to ask the Palestinians to give up violence because that violence is directed against them!

Israel was founded by the British; this is a matter of historical record, so I'm not going to waste time giving more detail. Anyone who is really interested can find the true facts extremely easily.

Israel is a very small country. She is smaller than Wales. She is surrounded by hostile Arab states who are dedicated to her destruction. Perhaps you'd like to remember this next time you post such a stupid question.

There were Jews in Palestine before the Brits and their
Imperialist occupation..I've heard stories of Jews hanging Brit officers from trees prior to the State's recognition

they are primed to respond..not ask for them to cease violence.I'm not sure they have..the Israelis don't screw around..they blew up suicide bombers homes after they attacked them

actually it was founded by a UN mandate and then defended itself from being attacked from all sides.

But thanks for playing.

as to your question they Palestinians do not have to forswear violence, but it is kind of hard to negotiate with a person trying to kill you.

We can clearly see that violence got the Palestians exactly what they wanted (yeah right)

So let them be violent they are only destroying their chances at a state.

Well I suppose that a nation can't learn from it's history and seek a peaceful solution.

I agree with you on this one, as far as the foundation of Israel, however...aren't you a little bit overdramatic?
