Africa faces AIDS, poverty, and genocide in Darfur, not to mention the amputations and killings in Sierra Leone over conflict diamonds. How can a land so blessed with natural resources, be the poorest in the world? I believe that Europe and the USA have been a major contributor to this turmoil and poverty, through slavery, colonialism, and politics.

How can we help Africa, which I believe is the cradle of life, the land we ALL came from many years ago... What can we as Americans do? It goes beyond throwing money at the problems, because we all know like Somalia, many warlords intercept money and food.

So we must take an active role in aid. Ourselves. Our US government, the pharmaceutical industry, teachers, professors, doctors, lawyers.. anybody who can enrich the lives of Africans and help our fellow human beings in need.

This isn't about religion or politics, but a cry for help we have to answer. Why? Because we have the capacity to do so.
Any suggestions?

Here are the original images I posted before:

Here are the new images from today by another witness:

It is reportedly in California. I posted the first set of images about two weeks ago. I had all kinds of responses from many saying it was either photo shopped or CGI. A new set of images of this craft have been posted which takes away the CGI/Photoshop theory. My question now is what is it. Even if it was created here on Earth for the purpose of surveying or study, it has advanced technology. It can hover silently and then zip off at high rates of speed. There is no apparent engine and no where for a being to sit, which adds to the strangeness of this thing.

There is writing under the craft that I do not recognize. This thing could be either terrestrial or extra-terrestrial. I am going with terrestrial - with help from foreign agencies(India).

What is it?

I understand the media can only give us what they are allowed, and that leaves us wondering what the "rest of the story" is.

"Energy independence now rivals health care as the top domestic concern. In an April Center for American Progress poll, 60 percent of Americans supported bold action on global warming. A staggering 79 percent believe shifting to alternative energy sources will help the economy and create, not cost, jobs. Voters think the United States is falling behind other countries, and they want government to lead." Robert Borsage and KV Heuval

I am a print journalism major and college news staff writer for a year. Like most universities, we have a full news staff of writers, photographers, CG artists, and editors, and we publish articles weekly.

However, my problem with working with the newspaper is having editors that have no clue how to edit news articles or they argue and fuss over AP style and are quick to fire a "novice" writer over a few mistakes, considering that we're all novices.

I have taken many communication classes where I've made nothing but A's, met all the deadlines, and I keep a 3.7 GPA in my field. I feel like this newspaper is nothing but a bunch of squabbling students who also have much to learn; It's hard to take them seriously.

I understand that the media workplace is hectic like this, i've worked for newspapers before, but there isn't any opportunity to grow or even learn here. I feel that if you want a professional job, hire professionals, not students.

What to think?

“Television brought the brutality of war into the comfort of the living room. Vietnam was lost in the living rooms of America--not on the battlefields of Vietnam.” ~~Marshall McLuhan quotes (Canadian communications theorist Educator, Writer and Social Reformer, 1911-1980)

Do you think the War in Iraq and other conflicts are being lost in American living rooms? Have we stopped allowing military leaders and elected officials from doing their job based on 30 to 60 seconds of news?

And, do you think the fundamental "patriotic" feelings towards "making the world safe for Democracy" are forever changed because we now see the brutality of the battlefields in our homes while we are having our first cup of coffee and Cheerios?

It's as if they're the regular fill when there's no other news. Before it was "1 person dies in car crash", now it's "1 person killed in Israeli-Palestinian conflict". Who cares??? Those people were killing each other since man climbed down from the tree, and they will do so forever.

Do you think the media is using this conflict as a filler? Or are they really interested in it? Is there even a point in being interested in such a boring conflict? Do you have some other opinion about this conflict?

If you answer, please remain neutral. Your answer must not contain words like "but Israelis started it" or "Palestinians are evil"

Just a few years back Israel branded Yasser Arafats Fatah movement as a terrorist organisation. Since Hamas has won the majority of the Palestinian vote the Israelis have changed their tune and are now supporting Fatah and are trying to forment civil war between Fatah and Hamas. This policy of diivde and conquer is the classic colonial tactic to control an occupied people. Just like the Americans drives Sunni against Shia in Iraq, as the British drove Protestant against Catholic in Ireland or Hindu against Muslim in India, the Zionist fascists are turning the Palestinian people against each other for their own selfish interests. What do people think about this?
