I saw where the reason the prices are so high is due to black outs and maintenance on the refineries. I say they should suck it up and eat the cost of repairing the refinery, and not pass the cost to us. They are looking for any excuse to gouge the car owner to pay more for gas.

I'm not going to let it get me down. I don't mind spending more time at home, cooking and going back to doing things like we did before movies, eating out and all that got to be such a way of life.
My husband and I sit on the patio every night now with a fire going and talk about the days events. Neighbors drop by and visit. It's really nice. We hardly turn the TV on anymore. Spent Mother's day at my son's house where the family gathered for a BB-Q and backyard baseball game. We had a great time.
Maybe the gas prices being up will get some of us back to the basics of family life and hone our skills of conversation. Hope So!

Who isn't? I saw a cartoon the other week that sure voiced my opinion. It was someone at the pump asking why the prices were so high, and there was a big oil guy next to him saying something about decreased supply. His foot was on the hose bringng gas into the pump, and it showed a big backup of gasoline. Those b******s are lining their pockets at our expense.
Oh, gas is about 3.08 a gallon here, or was 2 days ago when I was out.

We are for one! Last summer, while visiting our daughter's family in Houston, Texas, there was an article in the local paper where a reporter interviewed the CEO's of the oil companies and they diddn't know then what they were gonna do with ALL OF THAT EXTRA MONEY! Now look at the prices! It's hard for me to believe that so many refineries are "BREAKING DOWN" or "HAVING PROBLEMS" at the same time!!!! And don't blame it on George Bush, he does not own any oil companies!! They are all owned by FOREIGNERS! I have heard that all the oil from Alaska goes straight to Japan, and not a drop comes to the USA! Has any one else heard this?

Of course they're jacking us around. They've got us by the b@lls because they know we'll continue to buy it. It's supply and demand. If we reduce our demand, they'll drop prices. The problem is, the majority of America needs to be behind that plan, or it won't work. For every person who cancels a trip or rides their bike to work, there are twelve people who use Ford Expeditions to shuttle one kid to soccer practice.

I would love to pay 3.23. I just paid 3.60 and had to look hard for that. I am tired of hearing how much profit they make every year. I am seriously thinking about bike riding this summer.

unfortunately yes it will make the cost of travel significantly higher, however this will allow us to travel in our own backyards. i am sure there are undiscovered gems in your part of the country that are wonderful. planning ahead on shopping trips would reduce the number of trips to the store. perhaps catching a movie then picking up a few things after you can accomplish two tasks at once. just some thoughts to share. we can all reduce our time in our vehicles with some careful planning and reduce our gasoline consumption.

Southern Indiana $3.29 to 3.39. Tired? It also raises the price of everything else for it costs to transport and operate many companies who has to raise their prices to turn a profit to keep going.
This is why GOING GREEN is a hot topic in the UK and US now.

I've been praying for higher prices for years. I figure its the only way this country will ween itself off of its addiction to oil and therefore lose its only reason for sending its brave young men and women to die in the middle east.
Praise God for answering prayers.
I hope it goes up to $100 a gallon.
