Our good ship America has hit an iceberg and is taking on water fast. The Captain has quietly ordered the media orchestra to keep playing and the stewards to rearrange the deck chairs.
Who will tell us to put on our life jackets and board the life boats? Should we look to government officials, church leaders, business gurus, teachers, or to the wise and elderly who have lived through perilous times to tell us when to panic?
Do we wait until there are long lines at Walmart and fights breaking out over fully-laden shopping carts towards the front of the checkout line?
Should we remain calm until there are marauding gangs or government thugs breaking down our doors to seize food and weapons and our young girls?
Are there ways to avoid the need for panic? Are patience and trust appropriate at the ship's current angle?

There is a march this Sunday to end the war in NYC. I have never been to a march or a protest of any kind so I am wondering if it will be safe. I have family fighting the war and I feel I need to go but Im worried that I will be putting myself in danger. It's manhattan so of course you have to be on gaurd but do I have to worry about getting arrested or anything like that? What should I expect?

Does anyone know??

Quick replies please... i don't have time to listen to it... lol

It must be BBC RADIO 3!!!
Not any other BBC radio station...!

If you know the cost to advise on the radio, that would be excellent as well!

We couldn't trust our politicians to tell us the truth over Iraq and the weapons of mass destruction which Sadaam Hussein did not possess. Instead they told us lies and acted upon flimsy interpretations of intelligence reports, resulting in an illegal war in Iraq. In the light of this incompetence, how on earth can they be trusted with a new an presumably deadlier nuclear capability ?

I am a media & marketing student so I'm well aware that today advertising and hidden agendas usually run the show. But I need to be informed of the world's happenings w/o any prejudices. I am also from the San Francisco Bay Area so if its local its a bonus but not a requirement for journalistically-credible fair and ethical news. Any websites you can prove fit this description? Many thanks.

Is it because of Democracy taking hold & Saddam being out of power, or because we no longer have the threat of WMDs?

For me, it's because of the fact that we get to use our military might and demonstrate that the USA is a country to be reckoned with!

We all can sense that our great nation has some big problems these days and we want leadership that favors the American Taxpayers since we are the ones who are paying for all of this with our hard earned tax money. Foolish decision making and failed policies by our elected leaders (of both parties) have our military personnel involved in questionable wars, have sent thousands of American jobs overseas, have made our country more unsafe, have damaged our nations reputation around the world, and have wasted billions of tax dollars - putting our nation deeply in debt (it is painfully clear that our leaders think that our tax money is theirs to waste at will).
