I did not say the government, I said let the people vote, in a referendum, on if they want us there.

The Iraqi's did vote, thanks to U.S. forces being there and allowing them to do so. Insurgents and terrorists would have massacred them had we not been there. So yes, they want us there. The terrorists do not.

As soon as Iraqi forces can secure their own country, we can leave. Until then, we stay.

It's a republic. The people vote for others to represent them and those people make policy. The government of Iraq has repeatedly said it does not want US forces to leave because they are not yet able to handle security (in other words, even more people would be massacred). There's a reason that there are no working national democracies in the world - they don't work except for small, homogeneous populations, they don't last, and minorities suffer greatly via tyranny of the majority.

Sure I agree, why not.
My bet is they want us OUT and fast. We are occupying their country and they prefer to have their country back even if it means chois. In interviews they said they would deal with whatever comes their way. They want the Americans to go home.
They are willing to take the RISKS.

But the US is afraid if they leave the insurgents will take over the country and use it as a base for terrorism.
I think the Iraqis will not let this happen. They are tired of War and Destruction.

It is time to take the VOTE.

The present government still wants you there or have they had a secret election we don't know about?

If a President is elected for a four year period he should serve that term.

If you were a yank how many times would you have voted your President out of office in the last EIGHT years @ hole
