I tell you what I hate most about these phone-in quiz shows is that they charge you to call in even though you are not always guaranteed to get through to leave your answer and details. I think this should definately be banned!! How is it fair that someone should pay 50p, £1.00, £1.50 and not even have a chance to leave their details. I think if you phone in everyone should be able to leave their details and thus all people have an equal chance of winning.

Yes like totally 100% banned they are taking peoples money out of them for nothing and when you actually ring up these phone lines you are unsuccesful / dont get through this time try again all the time has anyone actually got through? Making people run up a hugh phone bill which is completely unfair so yeah I think that they should be banned.

They need to be clear and honest, the BBC seems to use them responsibly.
There is a place for them, but they need to be regulated properly, and some people need to be protected from them, because it is a form of gambling in some cases.
The major channels are listening, the ITV Play channel is to be replaced by ITV 2+1 which shows ITV2 shows an hour later, this means that I will have to rescan my freeview box, because I had deleted ITV Play.
Having said the BBC used the services responsibly, it has come to light that Blue Peter following a technical breakdown, let a child in the studio apparently take the call because they had no way of sellecting from those who rang in. They have apologised today. The calls cost 10p each.

No of course not. Why ban everything that calls for any discretion on use? It looks to me as if we need two law set ups - those for the febble minded and the other for those who can look after themselves

The call has to be premium rate to pay for the prize as well as the profit. Local call rates would mean little prizes - it's simple economics.
If you're stupid enough to do something without reading the small print, your problem.

Yes they should. Its a ripoff. Just think stupid programmes like bb and other reality tv shows would be taken off the air because they rely on mugs phoning them to vote.
