I personally hate the idea, i mean what are we fighting for in the first place? yes, i know we hear to liberate the people of iraq, but is that the real reason? If it wasnt for all the oil there, would american foreign policy even care about all the bad things that have happened there? For example, there has been non stop civil war in africa which has caused the rise of many really harsh dicatorships which dont care at all for there own people and wud rather let them die. And what does the US do? Just send aid, no troops, no massive war effort, none of that. Well whats the difference in iraq? they had no nuclear weapons, they have never posed a real threat to the US, and like africa there leader was an evil dictator. And no dont say it was b/c the terrorist cells there like taliban. the roots to those groups is throughout the mid east, and they just simply recruit from countryies like iraq. If anything countries like syria and iran pose more of a threat then iraq ever did. its oil huh?

When the US invaded Iraq under false pretenses, the media just reported what the administration told them to. When Bush couldn't understand/didn't care what was happening in New Orleans during Katrina, the media didn't say much-BTW how come we never hear about New Orleans anymore but we hear all about a Playboy bimbo who died? This lie is the single greatest accomplishment of the right wing EVER.

One of the arguments against impeachment is a lack of solid evidence.
However, given the widespread suspicion of Bush, Cheney & Co. among Americans, is there a good argument against a large, bi-partisan investigation?

Even if you are still in love with the current administration, wouldn't you see an investigation as a way to clear our senior executives' names once and for all?

I wash my garbage to recycle containers like gooey peanut butter jars and greasy chili cans. I drive a compact car that is way to small for my bones. I combine errands into one trip per day so I can conserve fuel. My thermostat is at 67 in winter and 79 in summer. I added insulation to my attic, caulked inside and outside of windows and doors, installed compact flourescent light bulbs, use energy saving windowshades instead of pretty window treatments, and a host of other things. I'm not whining--I WANT to do my part.
Then I see our leaders and other celebrities in the news saying somebody ought to do something about pollution. Somebody else! They say there ought to be more laws to force me to do more. When the interview is over, they hop on a private jet to their next stop. Then they ride in one of their gas-hog vehicles to one of their THREE huge houses (all must be heated and cooled). Shouldn't THEY be setting the EXAMPLE in their personal choices? Why don't you suggest it to them

Personally, I am not unnerved by Iran. What I am un-nerved about is that we have been slowly escalating this situation to this point since the late 70's. How can we peacefully come to an energy sharing agreement with that part of the world. I really would take a good second look at any "proof" of WMD's this time, cause we are not dealing with a beaten and bruised country, Iran has been anticipating tthis moment and welcomes the challenge, which means that they are about respect. So if we do not show them any respect, they may show none to us. We should probably just let them do their thing. What do you think?

I've heard that gas is more expensive on the weekends, and am not sure if that is true or not. Is there a day of the week when gas is cheapest?

I've been trying to observe, but with gas prices fluctuating so much from week to week, I can't figure it out.

In Defense of Hollywood's Blacklist
Thursday, September 4, 2003
By: Jeff Britting

Dear Editor:

Regarding the Michael Epstein documentary: "Arthur Miller, Elia Kazan and the Blacklist: None Without Sin," (PBS, 9/3/03): the real "sin" was clearly that of the blacklisted writers and actors. This documentary is yet another attempt by the American left to keep alive the big lie that the blacklisted were innocent victims and unjustly persecuted. They were neither.

American citizens have the right to hold and express unpopular views, including communist views. However, such freedom does not include the right to forcibly overthrow the United States government. The American Communist Party was a secret organization not a political party. And as the KGB archives prove, it was financed and directed by the Soviet Union, which made it an extension of Soviet foreign policy, and thus a proper subject for congressional inquiry. Those who refused to "name names" had plenty to hide.

Ive lived in the Middle east now for 9 years - i know Arab values, I know the contempt many of them show for the West and I know when 9/11 happened most of them were totally with the terrorists- however all i hear out of UK is "Its Bushes fault"! Does anyone aout there think the Arabs are to blame for the problems in Iraq - the problems with Israel, the problems with Muslim terrorists in Africa and the terrorist incidents that seem to be spillng over into Europe - is it all really the wests fault??
