Convince me that the Gov't did not stage 9-11! I want to think they didn't! (No Straw Men)?

Please convince me! The idea makes me want to barf, and I don't want to believe it.

If you feel the need to discuss Sasquatch and Tin Foil Hats, please post elsewhere. I wanna hear about 9-11!

So far no one has come up with any evidence to implicate BushCo (obvious to anyone who has even a limited knowledge of physics/engineering). But its one of those vague accusations you can't actually disprove--someone can always come up with one more ad hoc theory.

Although I wouldn't put it past some of our so-called "leaders" (not Bush--he'd never have the brains) as far as their lacck of any moral sense goes, the fact is they simply were not involved. But I do think they recognized it as an opportunity to try to seize power to a degree the Constitution does not permit--and as a highly profitible 'causus belli.' And, given all that has been revealed, I think the terrorists unwittingly did help them--because it created a political climate in which Bush and company could mislead the US people and Congress into invading Iraq.

And--I have no hard evidence--but my opinion is that Bush, etc. were already plannning to invade Iraq on some pretext--9/11 jsut made it easy for them.

I think the facts are pretty obvious. I watched the planes crash into the buildings on national TV.

You don't have to be a structural engineer to understand that the weight a column can support depends on the length of a column. A simple example is a piece of 1/2 " diameter steel rod. If its only 2" long you can push a car with it. If its 20 ft long it won't even hold up its own weight.

The floors collasped because they were supported by steel joist. Go to the steel joist institute web site and see what it says about fires. The fire doesn't have to get near the melting point of steel for the joist to collaspe.

After the floor collasped the outer columns were effectively longer. (See the 1/2" rod example above) the columns collasped and the building came a tumbling down. The two main towers were identical design so guess what they fell the same way.

It you haven't figured all this out by now maybe the tinfoil hat is too tight.

I've read a bunch of websites, looked at a ton of photos on websites. There's nothing conclusive about 9-11. The conspiracy websites even argue with each other about specifics. It was fun reading, though.

My friend told me about this one web site by a guy named Sherman H. Skolnick. What a trip. He must have dropped some bad stuff in the 60's. He claimed that Barbara Olson/Olsen (an author) that was on American flight 77 on 9-11 was arrested on the Polish/Austrian border in September 2005 with a Vatican passport and a suitcase full of fake Italian Lira. My friend was all excited and said that it proved that the government had secretly diverted those planes and blew up the buildings with missiles that looked like airplanes. Then I told my friend that there is no Polish/Austrian border and a suitcase full of Italian Lira would be only worth a few dollars. There is other currency that would be worth more, so why would anyone want to counterfeit a relatively worthless currency? And Italy had already converted to the Euro three years earlier. My friend got mad at me because he had already left his phone number with the Austrian embasy to ask them if they could get the phone number for the border station. He wanted to try to talk to the border agent that arrested Barbara Olson. They must have had a good laugh about that one.

Skolnick also claimed Bush is a queer and a secret lover of the Queen of England and all sorts of wild inflamatory stuff. It's the kind of drivel you'd expect to hear in a jr. high school locker room. In his bio Skolnick claimed that he busted politicians back in the 50s and 60s but behind every good man is a better woman. She did the investigating, came to him with the info, testified in court, and he gave her no credit at all. What a jerk. But if you want to read some really outlandish stuff visit his website!

I think Skolnick got the Barbara Olson story from www.TomFlocco.com or maybe Flocco got it from Skolnick. They were both running with the story and would not reveal their "source". Cloak and Daggar says Skolnick released the story on Sept. 20, 2005. Flocco datelined his story on Sept. 22, 2005. So if those dates are accurate I suppose Skolnick broke the story. Or should I say invented the story.

There are so many things wrong with this I don't know where to start. First, what possible reason would the US gov't have to kill 3000 of its own? Second, Bush is nowhere near smart enough to arrange it. Third, it would require so many agencies of the gov't working together that that alone makes it impossible, much less keeping it secret. Fourth, if 9/11 was an inside job, and the gov’t would have no qualms killing 3000 of its own to start a war, it wouldn’t hesitate to kill the conspiracy theorists. Besides, doesn't the fact that Osama admitted to it mean anything to anyone?

This idea is ridiculous and it makes liberals look like idiots. I am a liberal and a skeptic, but I do not believe the conspiracy theories one bit. These elaborate videos and myths are an insult to everyone. They piece together one hundred of the least likely ways things could have happened and then say its true.
I do believe that the administration used 9/11 to fuel their own interests. They started doing that on 9/12.

Hmmm,
I am VERY VERY liberal and I don't believe the government staged 9/11. I think it's quite possible that, like in 1941, the government purposely ignored evidence of an impending attack because they knew it would serve their purposes.

I guess my strongest reason for thinking it was not staged is that I don't think the people who hijacked and crashed the planes would have done that for money. I think they had to believe in what they were doing in order to kill themselves. So, supposed it was not them? The chances of 20 people, all from Saudi Arabia, all taking flight lessons, would HAPPEN to be on those planes is very small.
Can you elaborate on some point I must have missed?

Truth about 911

Factual evidence and unexplained events during September 11th leave many questions unanswered. I am not convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that the events were organized solely by one group. The main problem is that the event of 911 is causing all unfolding world events since that time. The facts speak for themselves. If anyone can explain the unanswered questions the following movies propose, feel free to let everyone else know.

I can't believe that you, and others, believe that our government (such as it is) would purposely kill our own innocent people in such a vicious attack, and on our own soil. I realize that there has always been government corruption and cover-ups--but this was too much--even for them.

Are you saying that Dubya wanted the excuse to foch up the oil fields in the mid-East, to further promote the oil fields that belong to his family? Even if he were such a monster, how would he have gotten Congress to go along with such a thing? This would make our government as bad as that of Nazi Germany's in World War II--and I don't think that anyone could ever be so cruel again.

No, there would have needed to be too many people involved to stage such a heinous act--someone would have had to come clean about it--or not go along with it in the first place.

The fact that there's no credible evidence that the government staged 9/11 should be enough, but I doubt you want to be convinced of the truth.

I'll make it easy for you...think of what would be at stake if they HAD of done it and they got/get found out. Can you imagine the level of civil war and land-based mutiny they would have?? They would have far too much to lose if it ever went wrong or was discovered. And besides, you still have footage of those ragheads getting on the planes; documents tying them to Al Qaida; recordings of Bin Laden saying the result of 911 was far better than he hoped for etc etc....Don't forget man, there are people within your own society (Do-gooders...and to a certain extent, TRAITORS) who try everyday to rubbish the actions the government takes, and inject propaganda into the media. The sad thing is, while they are hell-bent on their p!ss-poor mission to "save" ragheads in the name of humanity, ragheads are killing or planning to kill U.S and allied soldiers and civillians. Remember - sometimes face-value is the truth.
