I hope that when these people in the mountains are found, taxpayers are not stuck paying the bill for all of these helicopter flights, police, rescue workers etc. and that the money that it cost comes out of the people directly. Why should my tax dollars pay for someone else's extreme sports?

In 1982, Time Magazine chose the computer as the "Person of the Year" and now Time Magazine has chosen its users in 2006 (you), as "Person of the Year".

From the men and women in the Armed Forces overseas, to the small town working man, everybody has had an influence on the future of the entire globe and will promote the future with blogs and comments.

How do you intend to celebrate the honor of being named "Person of the Year" by Time Magazine?

Do you feel as though the present and the future of humanity is with the computers?

Are the computers and the Internet influencing, the past, present and future of humanity by making the world and its people accessible to each other with all the blogging, interacting with different web sites, marketing/sales, politics, news, etc...?

Are the established newspapers and print media becoming dinosaurs in this ever faster and faster world of getting out the news to its readers?

A good trend or a bad trend?...

Your thoughts

I was reading through some of the Q and A's on this site, and I just HAD to make an account. I CANNOT believe some of the questions on this thing. Some of them are CRAZED. Like have you ever come across a question that just made you stop think "WTF?" One where you just HAD to reread it, just to make sure your mind was processing it correctly?

This really got me thinking so I just HAD to comment on it and I wanted to ask: What is the FUNNIEST post you have ever read on this website?

This question below is the one that finally drove me to create an account! So i'm now just wondering, can ANYTHING top this one? Is so, provide a link and prove it!

are our hearts and soul blind...according to a survey 6 lak people have died in iraq in past 3 years(even if i say this is an exagerated comment and say 2 lak people died then isnt that more than enough to open up peoples eyes through out the world...all hell has broken lose, everyday about dozen people die in iraq, now lets not say that invasion was the right thing or not because what we should be worried about should be what can be done to stabilize iraq and when allied forces should leave iraq(because we all know that before their presence sadam may well be present but the situation was not even 1% as bad as today)...what ever you think please give your reasons aswell...for serious discussion only

The government of the United States has implemented some major programs and laws to fight the war on Terror. These include the Patriot Act, The NSA Surveillance program, increase executive powers for the duration of the war, the drive to build a fence between the US and Mexico, Guantanamo Bay for detention of terrorists, secret and harsh CIA interrogations, etc. I think that these programs damage our image in the world and at home. It is obvious that many of these plans and programs limit personal freedoms and go against many values of our Constitution. This is evident because almost every program enacted has been ruled unconstitutional when the case has went to court. We are now a divided country, and our actions, in my opinion have weakend America. Can it be that our fear of another attack is causing us to give up our values of a free, lawful and morally right country?

When Im watching a show on CBS or NBC they put a little logo in the corner. Like CBS has that eye thingy and NBC has the peacock thing. But how do they stay on the camera? do they tape them on? Because they do a really good job of hiding whatever keeps it up? I thought that maybe they engrave it onto the screen, but sometimes it changes sides and goes of for commircials.

And like on CNN and FOX, they have the letters. How do they get the letters on the thing? Like they have those yellow letters moving from side to side? That's really cool, but how they do that without letters coming off screen?

They get into trouble then the lives of Rescue Teams are put at risk and thousands of Dollars are spent in an effort to save them.

I heard that he doesn't like chocolate ice cream because he says it reminds him of black people. Was Kanye West right? I thought Kanye was a total dumbass for saying that George Bush doesn't like balck people, but maybe he was right. I have heard this rumor three or four times in the last week from totally different sources. What's the deal?

It's really bad that those hikers have got lost and I really do hope they find them, but they are expert hikers and they took the risk of hiking up a mountain in winter, and now hundreds of rescuers who have families of their own, are risking their lives to try and find these people and this has been all over the news networks non stop all day. THREE EXPERT hikers are lost on a mountain and could possibly be dead and are getting more news coverage than an American solider killed in Iraq ever will.

...and not in one of the numerous places in Africa? George Bush has talked about liberating people in Afghanistan and Iraq from oppression and terror, but it seems like there are countries in Africa that have the same or worse conditions. Why is this (other than oil)? He doesn't like black people, does he? That little b|tch, Kanye West, was right, wasn't he?
