I think we are putting our children in risk, when they watch too much TV in which are violent contents. I think we need better parenting skills and choices for better TV solutions. I know we got the ratings for tV shows, but is it really enough from preventing that our children consume to much violence and than become violent themselves?

Canadian judge orders removal of Christmas tree

OTTAWA (AFP) - A Canadian judge has ordered the removal of a Christmas tree from a Toronto courthouse lobby, saying it might offend non-Christians.

In a letter to staff on Wednesday, Justice Marion Cohen said the decorated tree made non-Christians feel "they are not part of this institution" and was an inappropriate symbol to greet visitors.


But the judge's order prompted an angry reaction on Thursday.

"There's no reason why a Christmas tree can't be put wherever people want it to be. It's by no means an offense, I believe, to any religion," an attorney told broadcaster CTV.

Over the years, I’ve heard hundreds (if not thousands) of people state they like Burger King hamburgs but don’t like their fries. They further state their desire for Burger King hamburgers with McDonalds fries. However, your average person is not going to travel to both restaurants and wait for each item as the other gets cold. This is where my ingenious idea comes to play. I will reconstruct my kitchen room & dining room into restaurant fully equipped with tables, stools & chairs. I’m going to hire 2 teenagers that will travel to McDonalds for fries & Burger King for Burgers every half hour. This brings the 2 products to the customer – nicely, quickly & hot!!!! What I need at this point is information where to buy the large McDonald and Burger King signs they have outside their restaurants to put outside my house. Where do I get them?

When a newspaper quote's someone occasionally you see that a portion of the quote is put into brackets or parentheses. I thought that maybe this was to add something implied but if that was the case it often seems that the quotaiton wouldn't make sense at all without the bracketed portion. Can someone explain the rules of usage of these brackets?

I was watching a tv program the other day and realised how much the british goverment still use carbon dioxide. I mean private jets, beefed up transports and other stuff! And then you have the bbc with all there electronic equipment when they claimed to be helping fight global warming?
