Because the press is bad.

The aim of the media is not to tell the truth, and not to discuss important matters. The aim of the media (today as well as in the past, no difference) is to attract readers and viewers. They do this by attacking powerful people, which make the "masses" happy. And they report on missing blondes in Aruba because it peaks people's interest, even though it's really not an important story.

To get real news, you need to seek many sources, and the important stuff and the truth will filter through to you. And you need to think.

About Tony Blair, he's supporting the War on Terror, and the public basically wants to hide their eyes and hope the terrorists go away without any effort from the public. On the other hand, it's poor leadership that allows the public to think that way. Same as in America.

About Iraq, I want to win. The question is, do we have the will to win? We obviously have the power to win, but do we have the will? Again, we need good leadership, to win.

It is because his is a nice and likable British chap, but he is not Hugh Grant. Hugh Grant has super powers in regards to charisma. As prime minister he would be the equivalent to Bill Clinton in the UK. While not incredibly handsome, nor ugly, Tony Blair couldn't get away with getting a sloppy lap sandwich, the likes that Bill Clinton and Hugh Grant both were able to do and keep on smiling. On a sidenote, Gérard Depardieu would be an awesome French leader.

It's called contamination through association. If you're friends with Bush that's a chance you take.
